Morning all. It's very wild, wet and windy outside, proper late autumn nearly winter weather, though strangely mild. This morning I had my usual three-way phone with my SIL and an old friend. Melbourne is having terrible rain and the Sunshine Coast is also getting heavy rain. I'm glad I went out in the early summer now, if I'd waited for now and got rained on I'd be cheesed off big time. Two neighbours called in earlier to use my wifi to set up a new phone. The older chap hasn't had a new phone for ages and hasn't got wifi at home, he's a lovely man who lives up the track from me. Anyway, the new SIM needs time to activate but at least they got on the web to set it all in motion.I'm still clearing out the last two portable hard drives, it's all repeat stuff now so I can do it more quickly. It's the stuff about my beloved DM's death I need to keep a hold of still, and her writings and photos. There's only so much I can let go of at once but at least I have cleared out the umpteen copies of it all and it's now all together. Once I've finished this task I can then copy everything onto the new second drive so that I have two copies. I think it's recommended to have three copies - called grandfather (mother), father (mother) and son (daughter) and keep them in separate places. Losing precious photographs and documents would be a nightmare.Mad - how lovely!Coxy - csarina left a good few months ago, maybe even last year.Rosy - I hope that you're cosy and dry again.Izzy - I always shower at night now (when home) as it makes for a better nights sleep. Long gone are the days when I had a bath, it always sounds so good but lingering in it until the water goes cold is not so wonderful.Bella - what a PITA for you, and so disappointing too. Will BA not transfer to a different flight? As for the car, another shocker. I hope that you can keep your spirits up. Sending you a virtual hug.Nelski - if you're reading along, have you checked if your laptop has 'speech to text' on it? I think that you bought a new one fairly recently so it's a possibility that, it's usually in MS Word.Today will be quiet, there's no point going out and it's nasty outside. I shall catch up on some TV programmes, listen to some Rebus and generally be idle. I hope that everyone is safe and dry. Happy Friday to all.10

Morning all
Dry here for now but it looks like we might gat rain later, day off for me and I slept till 9.30 which was bliss.
I have a hospital appointment this afternoon for a pre opp assesment but no date for the op yet so I am not sure if I will have to have another one just before the op.
Will have a quick tidy round this morning and then get the dogs out for a good walk. I might do something quick for dinner I have some breaded fish in the freezer so might do that with some chips and peas as I dont know what time I will be back.
Madbat well done on helping the little hedgehog I hope he is ok, my OH made a hedgehog house a few years back and its still going strong we have a visitor in it every year, I must change the hay in it before the weather turns cold.
Have good days all and take care xxx8 -
Morning everyone
Slow start this morning as I'm full of cold and feel as if it's developing into a chest infection. I've done an econsult to hopefully get some antibiotics. So today will be a lazy day.
I had a lovely day yesterday. Great nephew who's 5 arrived about 10 to 9 and had a train track set up 10 minutes later! He's a lovely little boy and great company. Little one joined us to go to the library for Halloween crafts which they both loved and made lots of things. Then she went out with DD and I took little nephew to soft play where he made a friend and I had a very nice hot chocolate, then home for a play in the sand pit and a trip to the nearby park where he tried to teach me how to play football! He goes to a football club on Saturday mornings now he's in year one so was keen to show off his skills. He decided he'd like to have tea with me rather than wait for his mummy so we'd just finished when my niece came to pick him up after work. It was so nice to spend time with him - he told me he doesn't care for year one cos there's a lot of work to do but he loves play time! I didn't mention he has a lot of years to go yet.
Well I'm going to move myself and get dressed. Hope everyone has a good day- sorry it's taken me so long to write this that I've forgotten what everyone said x9 -
Morning all. We are now a three hoover family. I picked up a mini Henry for upstairs [cheap, fb steal] because soemtimes I need a bit more suction than the stick one [which is great for floors but not great when you put the little pointy stick thing on ] and I can't carry the other one upstairs it's so heavy. I think that one will be going for sale. It's very good, i am impressed. Did some re-sorting and decluttering, I have two bags for the cs, and have organised the back bedroom and the clothes, finally and found three future sewing projects. There is more to do obviously, but my sister is coming up today or tomorrow for the twice yearly WI quiz so have to get things ready for her. I think my sewing stuff is going to take a nosedive to less things next week. I'm sure there'll be someone on Freecycle who wants odds and ends..Nan, glad the funeral went well, maybe they thought they were mozarella sticks Ruby, hope you get your date soon. Mad, glad your hog was saved. Rosy, hope you drip dry soon! Bella, let's hope all the bad stuff has happened today and thats it! Take care all, the weather seems to be saying stay in, wrap up warm, stay on the sofa...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...10
