Best way to transfer money from Colombia to the U.K.

Hello all,
Father in law is giving all his children (my wife included) a large sum of money. Problem is we live in the U.K. and I just can’t work out the best way to transfer to a U.K. bank account. Direct bank transfer from Colombian bank apprantly have a 20% fee (!).
