in Credit cards
my g/f is getting pestering letters from Capital one for her ex who used to live with her over 6 months ago , she has constantly rang them with his new contact details but still gets letters and calls , today she got a letter saying they are going to send someone round which she dosent want as she will prob be at work and her daughter might open to door to god knows who they send , she has told them that but they say they cant tale his new address??? What can be done to put an end to all this. They also asked if she could contact him but it is their job to do that as it is their debt.

Stop negotiating with them for a start & just return all the letters unopened marked 'Not known at this address', every time they call tell them they have the wrong number and hang up. It's up to them to find thier own debters.0

Just to be certain that the basics have been covered ....
Whose name was the credit card in? Was it in her ex's name or was it in her own name? If the latter, then she is liable for the debt even if he ran up the debts as an additional cardholder. I hope that's not the case, but thought it worth pointing out just in case.

What can be done to put an end to all this.
If she is not liable for the debt then she should write them a letter stating that she has co-operated in providing his last known address and will not tolerate further harrasement which will be reported to the police.
Keep a diary of all letters they send and keep them all as a record.
Send it recorded delivery (70p) so they can't claim "lost in the post".
Hopefully that will be enough to put a stop to it.0
