So honestly I feel I’m talking to a brick wall with BG I have been with them for 12 years and never had a problem until I really needed their help. Myself and my husband separated in June I asked all the utility companies to change the date to the 1st as my wages go in on the 1st of every month. Everyone involved did this bar BG first month was fine not a problem but since then it has been endless stress as they keep changing it back to the 27th. Each month I call and it’s the same conversation yes it’s all been sorted for you have a great day etc etc this month has hit me hard I don’t get any help from my ex husband and I work full time pay everything myself, I was paying for my shopping and my card declined only to check my bank and BG have taken the DD again today on the 27th! I called only to find that they couldn’t actually change it to the 1st of every month but could change it to the 5th. My upset is this 1) why didn’t they say this to me and 2) I’m now going to be charged by my bank for going over my limit. I called them and they weren’t really that bothered offered me £30 and said if I called tomorrow they’d change it to the 5th. Please can someone help me with this as their blunder has left me and my 3 kids with nothing till Monday
many thanks

Ring them again and tell them that they need to refund you what they have taken IMMEDIATELY as their action has left you in severe hardship. Back this up in writing, to their complaints department.
Did you have anything from them confirming that they had actioned the change of date for the DD when you called before? And finally - what date did they tell you on the notification of intention to take your payment - this might be contained in your bill. If they have previously confirmed the beginning of the month date, and have taken the DD outside of that without notifying you this was going to happen, you may also have a claim from your bank under the DD guarantee.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
