Gutter join leak sealing

Thanks @stuart45 I looked up that gutter union and can see from a pic of it where the gaskets should be. I’ll have a proper look and see if I can see any stops or gaskets on what’s there now. Maybe for that price it’s better to just get a new one, if they’re not too complicated to replace.stuart45 said:You won't see any gaskets until you unclip it. There should be a couple of stops inside the union to mark where the gutter should stop to allow for expansion. A new Brett Martin gutter union is only about £3 if you need one, unless it's a fake cast iron type.1 -
Couple of screws to get out, unclipped and it comes off. The clips get brittle in time, and I often break them.
Worth getting a ladder standoff for working on gutters.2 -
There's no gasket in, just a load of sealant that's pulled away and stuck on the gutter.1

Yup - there should be rubber gaskets in these grooves. Pretty sure you can buy replacement gaskets, so that would be 'jobbie jobbed'

Cool - you seem to have found what the actual problem is, so I can go back and delete all my previous posts... :-(1 -
Yes, gaskets available. Check over the connector carefully, and you should find a make embossed in it. Sometimes also printed along the actual gutter itself - good wipe, and look closely.1
