Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was LO's, DH complained I ignored. Will sort tonight's dinner when I finish work. Work wasn't too bad and my tech issue seems (hopefully) to have been sorted.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all a bad nights sleep for me feeling very down in the dumps this morning i have to take the hire car back during rush hour need to be there for 8am as they called me too late last night to go back not great as its an automatic and i am used to a manual so a bit nervous.
My lovely cruise to the Panama canal i booked nearly 2 years ago i need to call and change as the rules for entry to the US changed in January and due to travelling to Cuba in March i cannot use the ESTA system i need to pay for a visa and go for an interview at the embassy you pay first then they give you an interview date due to backlogs the wait time is 180 days so i won't have enough time i have visited the US and Cuba before with no issues and checked all visa requirements when i booked the cruise had i known i wouldn't have gone to Cuba but again booked before the rules changed there has been no publicity given to this and only knew as i saw something on Tik Tok and if i already had an ESTA it would have been revoked to say i am stressed today is an understatement i just want to cry but hopefully i can make some changes and either get a credit note for the cruise and flights or salvage some money back
Sorry to vent i just needed to let off some steam I will try to come back on later in a more positive mood

Morning All
Another dry start to the day but rain due later. We had epic rain yesterday morning just as the children were coming in to school, all our spare socks were given out! Quite a nice day after that, at least the children got out to play which makes a big difference to our day.
Lovely tea at DDs last night, the little one was in great form, I had to be a puppy with a poorly paw and she was the vet! Couldn't believe how dark it was when I was driving home and it was only 7pm, need to get used to driving in the dark again.
Lots to do at work, there really aren't enough hours in the day at the moment. Hallowe'en party tonight but I'm not going for that, too far to travel back again (thank goodness).
So sorry to hear of your friend's death Scarlet, such a sad time for you. Well done for making those calls, never easy.
Glad you had a good holiday Bella, hope you can get your visa sorted out soon. I heard about the Cuba/USA problem a few weeks ago, would have thought the cruise company would have informed you.
Must get moving, there are road works everywhere I turn at the moment so all journeys are taking twice as long.
Hope you're all well and have a good day. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all.Still dark here, it's the darkness of winter which I find difficult. It makes me want to hunker down until the light returns. Yesterday's gloomy start turned into a lovely day again, albeit with high winds.Washing the cotton rug at home was fine although it's now very crumpled looking. Once it's back down on the floor that won't matter so much.Bella - what a shocker for you 🙁 it is odd that your travel company didn't alert you. I really hope that you can sort something out sharpish.TA - how was your day out?Camelot - what a wee piece of joy with your little one. 😄
Snoozer - I hope that the lurgy is leaving you.Today I'm going to think about starting to empty the suitcase which I filled with stuff from the old spare room. Everything got bunged into it so it'll almost time to face it, I need to work up to it. Daft, I know!
Hugs to all, and a happy Thursday too.12 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Bella, sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations - hope you can get some money back at least and that the day improves for you.Camelot, your little dd sounds hilarious - Hope your paw is better now! Funny about roadworks (well it's not) our little town is the same, everywhere you go. A couple of weeks ago one of the utilities was working at the bottom of our street where it leads on to a main road. What with temporary traffic lights and orange lights flashing on vehicles it looked like Christmas..Thanks for your condolences about my friend, everyone. I made the calls, and got it over with thank heavens. It's worse when it's an unexpected death like that.I'm going to M&S in one of the nearby shopping centres later. I had an email to say that a pair of shoes that I'd tried to order was now back in stock so I ordered them and can pick up today. They are just flat black loafers, but I'll wear them a lot.TA, hope you enjoyed your day out with friends, it's always nice to put the world to rights over a meal.Hope everyone is all right and has a good day today, take care folks.12

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Still very mild but as far as I can tell it looks a bit damp out there. I'm with you GERS, I hate the dark days of winter and would love to hibernate until the spring.
I had the usual pleasant day out yesterday, despite it being down to just two amigos at the last minute! The weather was kind so it ended up as Skipton again for a slow amble round the market and cs. I made a lucky find in Scope. A brand new jacket (with tags and spare buttons!) for £10. A perfect fit and a lovely burnt orange to cheer up the autumn days. I didn't need it but couldn't resist! My DF was envious that I had spotted it first! We enjoyed an enormous lunch (with wine of course!) and put the world to rights, as you do! A grand day out!
Some cleaning awaits this morning and if it lives up to forecast I might resume a bit of garden pottering this afternoon.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. BELLA I hope you manage to sort something out, what a debacle. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all
It's a glorious sunrise this morning
I'm off scrubbing in a bit. I had a productive day yesterday and finally got to make blackout curtains for the landing. Doctor has changed one of DP meds do hopefully that will help the pain although she didn't think that was what it was. DS is at work. Dinner will be something I can prep in advance, probably pork loin in a cream and mustard sauce 😋.
Have a good day all.9 -

Glad DP's meds are sorted @Madbat60 - I hope they make a difference.
We have quorn moussaka tonight. I cooked it last night whilst the oven was on for some potato wedges, so we only have to reheat in the MW. Will buy some salad at lunchtime.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the good wishes. I still feel terrible, high temperature, very sore throat and aches and pains, far worse than the covid I had in July. Steve has escaped it so far so we are still keeping fingers crossed that continues, if he gets it now it will ean our trip to Yorkshire will be kyboshed.
He's been helping Crystal with Nate for the last two days so that she's been able to get some sleep. he has his postponed vaccinations today so I hope he takes them in stride.
Scarlet. I'm sorry for your loss.
Bella, it seems wrong that the US has changed the system retrospectively.
Have a good day.11
