Sorry, I've no experience of such firms. They will operate their own policy on recruitment so the only way you are going to get such data is from them or someone who does work for them or has worked for them.raks187 said:Like a big corporate like haart spicer or connells group?I am a mortgage broker. @raks187 Can't speak specifically for the firms you've cited but based on my past experience at a large London EA owned DA firm I highly doubt a 6+ year CCJ would stop you from taking up an employed new broker role in such firms. I'm pretty sure we even hired people who'd been in the country less than 4-5 years so wouldn't even have a full credit file.raks187 said:What credit checks are done? If I had a ccj which was over 6 years old will this matter? Many thanks for you help
As mentioned above you need to answer any questions asked truthfully as not doing so can most definitely be a show stopper.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I suspect the majority here are more established advisers that work for their own firm.raks187 said:Can I ask where those who are already mortgage advisors where do you work?
<generalisation alert> Most new advisers start out with an estate agent or bank. Some will start with a local IFA firm. Over time, around half will fail within 2 years (often in debt because they couldnt earn enough). The other half will see some remain with the same employer whilst some will move on to other employers or set up their own company or join with other advisers as a partner/director. Some will then look to become investment class authorised as that is where the higher earnings are (unless you can get advisers working for you - or better still, get investment class and get advisers working for you).
I haven't done a mortgage since the 90s. You cannot be a jack of all trades nowadays. Something has to give and I decided investment class was my priority. However, I employ mortgage advisers within my firm and take a cut of what they earn.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
