Label and packaging advice for Ebay

Options
I've been selling some stuff from around the house and so far so good, I have mainly been using Evri and printing off the label onto A4 and sticking it to the front of the parcel with tape, this is also going well but I would like to use sticky labels instead and I don't want to print in the shop, I prefer to do it at home.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to generate sticky labels? I have a printer and am happy to use that, or I could be interested in buying a label maker if it's not expensive, some advice on where to buy labels etc would be great and I'm happy for any other advice too, maybe something I haven't thought of to do with packing, I have been reusing boxes and post bags but they will soon be gone so I'll need to buy some more, I was thinking to buy from eBay, Items I sell are clothing, makeup, perfume etc so various sizes but nothing huge or heavy.

Thanks for any help  :)

  • Ive tested and been through a few thermal label printers.

The Aobio Q5 is pretty good : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLnbkW2pGwo

Personally I use the FreeX Printer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2baqmdPMyM

The FreeX is wireless, so it means I can be sitting with my laptop in the living room, and create and print the label, which prints to the study upstairs, and is ready when I go up there to package up and stick on the label etc....I find it quicker and easier then printing on paper and sticking onto the package using tape etc.
Thermal labels are also waterproof - before I used clear tape to cover the entire label in case it was in the rain etc. Now I don't have to bother.

I do not have an online business - just sell unwanted or unneeded stuff (stuff I've purchased and reviewed usually) - but I found the thermal label printer a very useful investment.

I use a thermal printer- bought via a Royal Mail scheme some years ago- and for which they provide free labels. Mine is a Zebra GK420d, it prints 6x4inch labels.

I'd be cautious about using a standard printer for sheets of labels, unless it has a straight feed option.

I own a Brother QL1100 thermal printer which can handle 6"x4" labels, unfortunately, when I do online postage with RM they give me a default A4 PDF of the label with the label itself on the LH side, Customs Form (if applicable) on the RH side, and a proof of postage receipt along the bottom - this format won't work on the Label printer unless I muck about with it, so I print it out on my main printer, cut the sheet up and stick the labels on with glue/sellotape. Its a pity the online interface doesnt offer you an option to print just the sections individually. I have mainly used the thermal printer for my Return Address labels.

I use RM postage occasionally especially for RM48 and  just choose my printer, opt for print just page number 1, and get just the 6x4 post label , nothing else.
