New smart meter installation
Hi.
I've booked appointments for these meters to go in next month.
The way the appointments worked, EDF is coming first to change gas meter, then Sainsbury's Energy the following week to deal with electric meter.
It dawned on me last night that maybe I need to get electric meter done first or does it matter which order they are done?
Thanks for any advice.

The electric meter is the one that sends the electric and gas readings to the supplier so I think your gas meter just might become a dumb meter that cannot send readings to the supplier and you will have to give your supplier readings like you did before the change, like I have too for my gas even though both were put in by BG and I'm now with Octopus.Someone please tell me what money is1

Many thanks. I think I will rearrange the gas one until later in the month then.0

From what I've read on this forum - the fitter shouldn't replace the gas meter with a smart version anyway if there isn't a working leccy meter ,as my understanding is that the gas meter cannot be commissioned without the remote comms. links in place.rothesy said:Many thanks. BG have finally committed to a date to replace my electricity meter in ~ 3 weeks - I'm going to allow a few months to make sure it's all working before I organise a gas meter replacement with EDF.1
