Morning all
I've been awake sine 5.50am. It's a bit grey here today and breezy. The washing on the line. I managed to get a doctors appointment this morning for DP as he's been in a lot of pain over the past 2 months. It's starting to make him depressed. I will go with him to make sure everything is covered as DP is dyslexic and hard of hearing. DS is at work.
I know what you mean about retirement. I took my NHS pension when I was 56 as I couldn't stand it any longer. I now do agency work which suits me, although I don't really want to fo that either. I just want to retire but I've got 6 years until I get my state pension.
Anyhow, I must trot on. Dinner is homemade chicken curry. I cooked it in the slocooker yesterday. We have hlut of incredibly hot home grown chilli's I need to do something with.
Have a good day all 😊11 -
Morning all. Dull and raining, glad I strimmed and mowed yesterday. It was really because I wanted to put the grass in the compost bin, so that's done now and there is shredded paper left for the next coupel of lots of stuff now. I'm becoming a bit obsessed with these bins you know. Moved all the pots to the side of the house where they'll be warmer in the winter and gave things a tidy up. Dumplings weren't very good, it was either the flour or the suet, so new ones of both needed. Just started watching the gbbo, I'm liking the Polish guy, he's really funny and genuine. Best caker of bake week....
Up and at em this morning, off to a nearby town to do some chores, they have a bank there and I need to put a cheque in. I may visit the cs's there too, there are a few. I have some non barcoded stamps to use up as well so I may send some silly postcards to people for the hell of it. And there is a very good buthcers cafe with a breakfast screaming my name too i think...oops..diet next week...
Scarlet, I'm sorry about your friend, and telling others about it is really hard.. Coxy, it's only turmeric, it's not like you haven't eaten curries with it in is it?well done on excercising in rubbish weather too. TA, enjoy the terrible threesome today! I just found out this morning that some chemotherapy is based on the poison of yew trees, just one snippet of info your friend might be interested in...snoozer, hope you're feeling better. Izzy, are you corssing off days on a calendar? I would be..Well ok then, I won't say anything else except what a pita your boss is and I may say that again in the future
Rosy, send me your address and I'll send you a jar
Hope you're all doing OK, hugs if not, star jumps if you are...

Morning all, it's damp out but dry at present. Today we're out to lunch and afterwards I want to pop into the garden centre shop, just to see if they have the xmas stuff in yet. Sometimes they have unusual things on their shelves, things that I never see elsewhere. I don't suppose much else will get done today housework-wise except playing with the dw 😂 I've ummed and arred so long about doing some washing that I haven't got the time now and the sun has come out, numpty!
Scarlet condolences to you and the family of your friend.
Madbat I hope the appointment goes well for your DP
Bella fingers crossed that the car is ok.
TA enjoy your lunch out today as the 3 amigos!
Gers who knew that custard could take up an hour of tv? They are having the contestants make such weird stuff in this series. What a great idea about having a living room upstairs!
dp1 hope your appointments go well today.
Thinking of the poorly ones and any poorly family members
Take care all

As the rain dried up and a weak winter sun appeared I got myself out into town. I had decided to not take the rug to the cleaners but stuck it in the washing machine as it's cotton. Now got it hanging up to dry over the upstairs bannisters and the front door open. My foray into town was to take my recycling to the tip and buy tin foil, I managed to resist everything else. Now the sun is teasing us here, sometimes it disappears behind thick grey cloud and then it comes out to shine again. There's a very large gaggle of geese which have been honking away for ages, I can't think why. They take off and circle around before landing again and doing more honking - do geese 'talk' to each other? I'm imagining a coffee morning club!7

Been a busy bee today in the kitchen, made dough for bread rolls ( we call them barms hereabouts
) and actually put the oven on to bake them. We had no bread for the men due to the non substitution in my order yesterday, and needed some for DS packed lunch tomorrow. Then I made some keto seeded crackers for me as the oven was hot. M/s used to do some but I've not been able to find them recently, and finally some dark choc/nut florentines, again for me as my little treat. Doing a chicken joint for tea.
I was going to go out for a walk but the weather has been heavy rain one minute then sunny spells & rainbows the next! Be just my luck to get drenched-taff, that was a kind offerthank you- perhaps I should have said I used to love piccalilli but I don't eat chutney etc now in my low carb lifestyle. No one else eats it here so I used to buy the smallest jar and even then I didnt eat it often enough & would end up throwing it away.
Scarlet, I hope the phone calls you had to make were not too distressing for you, horrible task.Gers I often use the bannister to dry sheets etc.Hope the poorlies are feeling better, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
