Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was beef stew and dumplings, pots and veg - some stew left so that will be a meal for someone.
Working at the other office today but my half day. Has been quite steady/busy - had problems again with my computer so will see what IT have managed to sort.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope your IT problems are fixed.
We actually had a dry day yesterday and quite mild too. Mild again this morning but absolutely chucking it down, thunder forecast for later.
I woke up very early this morning but have managed to do a couple of little jobs, they seemed huge yesterday but didn't take long at all!
DD is making me dinner after work, looking forward to that and a catch up. The little one is really enjoying nursery but it's very tiring for her suddenly going for 5 days, not sure she'll manage all week yet.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning all feeling a bit more human today went to bed at 8 and just got up although i am still yawning . The car goes for its MOT and to look at a couple of little niggles so i have a hire car later . I need to go to the freezer to find something for dinner last night was pie n mash. I went to Lidl for our shopping but i think i will be going back to Tesco as the shelves except for their specials were pretty bare .

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, hope your computer behaves today.Thank you all for your condolences about my friend, you're all very kind. Her husband rang yesterday and we chatted for about an hour - he is coping well, but it's a busy time after a death and he'll need support after, as we all know. He gave me a little list of other friends to ring, to tell them.Snoozer, sorry to read you aren't well, you sound so poorly.Camelot, hope your Dgd is ok at nursery, it can be tiring for young ones.Bella, welcome back.Ruby, glad to hear you aren't having the miserable client again, life can be difficult enough without spending all day with people like that.I spent yesterday washing, tidying, and putting away - there's still stuff to do, but I'll just work through it. Heaven knows I'm used to tidying, washing, and putting away! Dh vacuumed the car, and helped me with jobs.I'll make the difficult phone calls as soon as I can this morning, I know one friend doesn't get up very early so I'll have to hold off for a bit there. It's never an easy job is it.Hope everyone is all right, and has a good day today, take care folks.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It looks a bit damp outside, we must have had overnight rain, but summer is forecast to come back with sun and 17 deg! Yesterday we had the nippy wind again so I hope that's moved elsewhere now.
My tidying of the garden didn't last long yesterday but I did bring all the outdoor lights and breakable ornaments into the garage for the winter so a step in the right direction. But I managed to smash the glass top of my little foldy up table in the process by knocking it over. Grr Gormless Gertie strikes again.
It's bus trip and wine 'n dine lunch day today. All 3 of us for a change, so much catching up to do. So no cooking to do tonight, a bowl of soup and bagel should fill the gap later I think.
Have a good day folks if you can ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. SCARLET much sympathy for you. Sad times. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning folks. The mild weather is very odd. Yesterday I had my front door open until 6pm, it wasn't warm but I like fresh air inside. The lamp delivery came fairly early in the afternoon but even so I didn't go out, I had a bout of inertia. 😀 I will definitely take the rug to the dry cleaners today.DP1 - yes, I'm converting the unused second bedroom into a sort of living room, all prepping for if / when I have my second hip op. Or just for when I not feeling 100% but don't want to be in bed. My stairs are very steep and even now going up them is more of a challenge than I like, going down is fine. The room is now being brought back into use, plus I'll have more space. The floor lamp was easy to put together and I've put in another smart bulb which works from both an app and my Alexa. Now all I need is the blooming chair, I ordered it in August when the lead time was 18 weeks. I saw yesterday that it's now £50.00 more than i paid.Today I will be doing more chores. Honest! I've bought some surge protection plugs to put on my wall sockets. Lightning strikes could fry routers and TVs and we're getting more and more of them.Another very odd week from GBBO though I'm a lover of set custard.Bella - did you have some lovely adventures in Mexico?
Scarlet - has your friend now died? Such a tough time for family and friends, my condolences to them.Dawn is creeping slowly, I may match it. 😀
Hugs all round, happy Wednesday to all.12 -

Morning all and thanks for the thread nmlc x I hope your IT issues get resolved today.
Condolences to you and your friend's family @ScarletRibbons. It's never easy passing on such sad news, I still get flashbacks from having to tell my parents about my DNephew - just heartbreaking xx
Glad little one is enjoying nursery @camelot1001
Hope the car gets sorted @bellabella
Enjoy your lunch out @TravellingAbuela - I am living vicariously through your posts - I can't wait to retire! Definitely the colour of piccalilli that makes me suspicious!
Well, we have a new Health Secretary - basically the previous one... just ridiculous. No wonder the country is in a state. Hopefully we can crack on and deliver some actual policy decisions now.
After only taking 4.3k steps yesterday, despite doing a food shop and walking the pup, I made up my mind to get up and go for a run this morning. Woke up at 5.20am and donned my lycra and hi vis vest and off I went. It was hard but I'm glad I did it. Have already done 8k steps today whoohoo!
Washing is on and another load to do. Meant to be raining from 2pm so will put it out and give it some air, but expect it'll be in the spare room on the airer later. Dinner tonight is SW slow cooked pulled pork, SW potato wedges and hm coleslaw.
Have a good day all and hugs to those who are poorly - @Nelski and @snoozer household in particular.

Morning all
Looks to be quite a nice day but rain due this evening, two clients coming today one has now got over having covid, the other one had a seziure at the end of last week and dislocated his collar bone and fractured his arm so is now in a sling, I am not able to help with personal care with men so I hope he can cope ok !
Cottage pie for dinner tonight, the mash is already made and I will do the base some time today, Im having my nails done later so will put it in a low oven before I go.
I need to have a quick tidy round this morning and then take big pup to my mums before the clients come, she is a lovely friendly dog but it would be too much with all of them here!
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning everyone
Looks like it's been raining in the night and seems quite windy. Yesterday afternoon it was really mild - I managed to do some tidying in the garden and also sorted the shed out, which I was glad to get done. This morning I have an early appointment at our local hospital about my Long Covid breathlessness and cough. Hopefully he starts on time as I'm then going to Newcastle - to the dental lab and then I'll have a look in the shops. Hopefully I'll find some Christmas presents....though I don't really know what I'm looking for.
My mam just rang so now I need to get moving...hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning everyone woke up at 3 and couldn’t get back to sleep it started pouring down about 4 and it’s never stopped off to work soon it’s my longest day today well at the cleaners anyway I do other jobs on my shorter days but I like this one out of the way Taff I have one year five months to do not that I’m counting and I must admit this job has its bonuses if not many it’s at the end of my street so a two minute commute the other girl that works there will swap about shifts so will I if we need an appointment at the dentist or whatever and I can take any washing or cleaning in I need doing it’s just the bosses wife is the only sticking point she’s a strange one and the work is heavy I just keep plodding on and think that’s another bill paid .chicken dinner tonight lost half a pound last night how is it so hard to lose and so easy to put on I forgot to say I think loads of you will have one but I had some vouchers and I treat myself to an electric steamer rather than have four rings on the cooker going I love it the food is beautiful out of it and everything in one place I’m easy pleased .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10
