Are Lloyds trying to catch me out?

I've got a Lloyds cc which had a limit of £5K on it and I used around £2.5K for a BT at 0% for 6mths, due to end March. Today I've received a letter from them telling my limit has been increased to £7.5K and inviting me to take further BT again at 0% for 6mths but this has to be done within next 2 mths, i.e. before the current BT ends.

Now I've got it stuck firmly in my mind never to use a cc with a BT balance on it otherwise you end up paying interest on a trapped balance due to how monthly payments are distributed.

So my question is, are Lloyds sneakily trying to put me in a position whereby I would be unable to clear the first BT in March, thus incurring interest penalties if I took them up on their current offer?

I don't actually have any cards due to end in the next couple of months so it would only be of any use to me to do a SBT via Egg if I was to use it but I don't want to get caught in a trap.

I think you are right to be concerned.
If the letter is a general marketing one they might not have crossed referenced customers with existing balance transfer debt to their database.
