Oh no, I was hoping one day you would divulge your secrets to being a millionaire and let us all have a bite
    of your cherry pie.  :)

I don't watch or read the secret tips but it doesn't surprise me that some of those mentioned will get accounts
    banned.

As soon as I get to the million I'll let you know. Only about 1.5 million to go!

  • For what its worth I have a online business selling circa 400 products and via about 25,000 orders per year. I sell via all the usual marketplaces but also via our own website.

I can and have done all the web work  myself with previous ventures in the past but on this occasion I didnt have the time (and have no artisitc talent whatsover!) so I have used Shopify - which I have to say is well worth it.

There are two main advantages of selling via your own website - firstly it avoids the (very) large marketplace fees. Secondly the average spend per order for me is over double what it is on the marketplace - presumably beacuse web customers take time to browse other products whereas with say Amazon, they are simply going on to find something specific.

So how do you get customers to the website?.....well one pretty good and cheap way that I do is to put a glossy leaflet (£60 for 5,000) in with each marketplace order offering a 15% discount for their next order.... if they go to the website. Shopify tracks who is using the codes so I can measure the hit rate. Overtime of course the website  increases in popularity and there are more non-discounted orders.

You can find a freelancer on Upwork, and it's not going to cost you a lot. Creating a website is only half of the deal; the next step is to attract some organic traffic to your website, which can be really challenging sometimes. If you need help with that, you can check services like https://rankengine.com/, and I am sure they will explain everything to you.
    Appreciate this a lot. Thanks
