Home Protect Insurance - Claim Rejected

Six weeks ago a drain became blocked and on examination had collapsed. The Insurance company has rejected the claim saying they don't cover pitch fibre piping. Although this is an old type of pipe I can find nothing in the policy that suggests such an exclusion. I have raised a complaint asking for evidence that the exclusion is in the policy. In the meantime, we are living with a collapsed drain and a health hazard. We have no option other than get the work done and pay for it ourselves. We will go through all the suggested complaint options, but think we are whistling in the wind. Appreciate any advice

What has caused the collapse? It not being an insured peril is much more likely the reason for the repudiation rather than the construction materials.
Are Home Protect or Axa dealing with the claim?0
