If you've already had a SEG, you will have an MPAN. That is initiated by the DNO, so somewhere there will be the response from the DNO confirming that they've received your G98 notification. Mine seemed very informal and was pretty much just a one line email from the DNO that my installer forwarded to me.

It depends. Octopus has recently tightened up on its procedures post the introduction of the new Flux tariff. Even though I had been receiving SEG payments for over 2 years, they insisted on seeing the DNO sign off letter for my installation and battery. They are particularly interested in the site export limit.

@[Deleted User] you might want to hide the grid reference in that image?
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

I am trying to sign up for SEG with Octopus. They are asking me to upload a DNO letter which I can't find in my Handover pack from the installer. I was with Scottish Power for SEG who didn't require that letter. I do have an Export MPAN. Can anyone help by telling me what is in the letter to help me find it?
It's just a confirmation from the DNO that they have processed the G98 application form they will have received from your installer.

Depending on the size of your install, they may have submitted this after the install, which means they're waiting for the DNO to process it. I'm in SSE South region, and they processed the G98 in about 4 weeks, and sent an email afterwards saying it's all ok. That email is all Octopus need.

Check with your installer if they've submitted the G98 and if they're waiting for the reply.

Thanks, that was very helpful, sorry about taking so long to thank you. I contacted the installer who checked and found they had sent the DNO letter by email, but had mistyped my email address. Once he corrected that all went smoothly with Octopus.
By the way, when will I expect Octopus to pay me for my exported energy?

Octopus has to apply to the DNO for an export MPAN. Some DNOs are slower than others. SP took 3 months to provide a MPAN a couple of years ago.

To answer my own question, Octopus seem to deduct the payment for my exported energy from my bill monthly.
This is much better than Scottish Power who only credit you every 6 months.
