Can we still use the old way of listing on EBay?

Options
I've been listing on EBay since 2005 but had a break the last year. Thought I'd try listing a couple of items tonight to get myself back into the habit of it again but it's taken me almost an hour then I gave up when I got to the postage part. Our local Post Office closed down over a year ago so I would be using Evri to post parcels. The part with Evri, where we have to choose from a long list of couriers, gives Evri as up to 1kg but only 2.5 cm deep and the next one is for 2-5 kg but mine is under 1kg but 11 cm deep. Not sure if I'm missing the one I need to choose but I've been up and down the list a couple of times. I'm so frustrated with all the information EBay are now looking for to list an item as it takes far too long.

I just wondered if anyone knows if we can still use the old way of listing an item. Many thanks for any help. :)

Unfortunately we can’t switch back. However, don’t worry about being exact with the service, as long as you show the correct courier the weight doesn’t really matter. Buyers will just see the courier and decide whether they are happy or not, you still set your own postage cost.

I found my postage changed anyway when eBay did another change and all my RM 2nd class small parcels switched to RM 2-5 kg parcel.

Thanks a lot, soolin! I've just found it so frustrating doing my first listing with all the changes EBay have made. Maybe I will get used to it but makes me want to try Vinted or some of the other selling platforms. I couldn't even find anywhere to tick UK only, the way it was before, but had to keep ticking so many boxes for different areas of the world as I don't want any international sales with all the Customs changes. So many specifics to add too but, in the end, I decided to ignore the majority of them. Hopefully I will get used to the new format.

There is more than one version of the new form (my 3 accounts all have entirely different views).  The only way I can see to manage non UK sales is hidden away on one of the sub categories , somewhere in there is a tick box for using GSP (which I do), below that is another box that says something like ‘no other International sales options’.

  • That's right. Ebay used to default to their Global shipping programme in the settings. I used to opt out of that and the Argos click and Collect in the checkbox settings.
