FTB: Advice needed RE: Offer

It depends what the house is worth to you.
would you be OK about it if you didn't get the house?
do similar houses for similar prices come up quite often?
it was sealed bids on the house we're buying, and basically just had to go for it. but then we really really like it, can see us living there for decades, and houses to fit our spec are very few and far between.

I keep reading that the housing market is set to decline and that I should't buy now, but I am in a position that I can afford to buy and I think I just need to bite the bullet and buy or else I will be living with family forever!
I'm just wondering whether your definition of affordable is close to mine.0 -
It does happen that EA's lie about other bidders...as this happened to my sister. She made an offer, they said not enough and there was another bidder. She said, fair enough let them buy it then. A few days later it transpired that not only wasn't there another bidder, but that they hadn't put her offer to the vendor either. He crawled back on his hands and kneeds...my sister simply laughed at him and went to find another house.
So, there is a chance that they'll come back, but to be honest I wouldn't worry about it. If you believe that you offered a fair price for the house then leave it at that and keep looking.
As other's have said, it is a a buyer's market and there are plenty of other houses out there...Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
