Morning all,Hope you all feel better soon Snoozer.Yesterday the weather was awful, especially when we had to stand at the side of a football pitch watching DGD! We both had big brollies & at 1 point I nearly got blown onto the pitch. Worth it though as they were losing and then made a great comeback. We had to change when we got home as our jeans were sopping wet through, & I couldn't get warm for ages. The roast beef dinner went down well though, & apple crumble for the men. I had a slice of keto lemon drizzle cake ( made with almond flour - not made by me though),warmed for 30 secs, with a few raspberries & cream, yumIzzy our Bigdog is the same with fireworks, I dread itDH has gone to start supervising a new extension, hope he doesn't do too much physically. Half term here too, so no pick ups & DGS away for a few days.I ordered some boots from bayof E , dispatched 3/10 & finally arrived Sat afternoon, not the sellers fault at all and they are cosy fur lined Skeche rs suede ones, just the job for winter, my old ones are getting a bit tatty now.I did well last week with my Xmas cardmaking, and did a couple of imminent birthday ones too. Might do a few more this afternoon, or shall I find more stuff to get rid of as there is a bit of space left in the bin to be collected tomorrow
decisions decisions. Anyway another brew is calling, so I'll wish you all well x

Hello all, damp and dreary here again. I got everything done on my list yesterday except the hair/beard cutting as my hands were too shaky and I couldn't be trusted with the scissors to do the tidying up, so we'll try another time.
Today Dad is coming over as we're celebrating his 93rd birthday and our wedding anniversary, the weather wasn't like this on the day we got married, it was sunny and mild many moons ago😎. For lunch I'm cooking roast lamb, roasties and veg with a bottle of something sparkly to wash it down. There is a large birthday cake for Dad for teatime, then Mr Fix It is taking me out for lunch on Wed to celebrate our anniversary, just the 2 of us.
Hope those going to work have a good day (NMLC, Camelot, Izzy, Madbat) and that RedRuby has a lovely day without the moany one. Enjoy your day everyone whatever you are doing today.
Snoozer hope you all feel better soon.
dp1 good luck to the little kitty today. You'll have dirty looks for a week!
Gers I enjoyed seeing all the oldies in Dr Who, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's aged a lot 😂
Nelski are you ok?
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones.

Morning! Swtiched things around a bit today. Got up and started organising the kitchen for making the picalilli after, got the jars for the dishwasher ready, the lids, the saucepans etc. Did some dishes and tidied a bit. OH has texted me from work to say he has a cold or something, I'm hoping it is only a cold. This week I am intending to stay off the computer as much as I can apart frm a stint in the morning and evening. It's just too easy to while away time wandering form one place to the next or refreshing the page to see if there's anything new. I've watched all the Chateau DIY stuff now so that's no longer a lureHappy Anniversary nanny! Rosy, you descibed a Sunday epxerience so well, it's like I was almost there...Love a Sunday roast, espeically a beef one. Looads of people seemed ot be having one yesterday, I ended up with reheated Chinese...next week maybe. Izzy, your job just gets harder and harder...poor doggie too. Ruby, dodged a bullet there then!
snoozer, rest and piquids and as many drugs as you can cram in then! Night Nurse tablets are really good and I think Tescos own brand make are as good..Madbat, the pie sounds lovely, reminds me I forgot to buy suet...
Gers, nice canal pics, I dont think I've ever seen an mepty one either...Right, must away to blanch my veg...take care all...

Sunny here on the south coast. Our tree out front (well it's the neighbour's) is looking absolutely lovely with a great slash of red leaves across the middle of it - it's a huge (50 feet?? I don't know) american sweetgum - leaves everywhere and their spikey seed pods but I wouldn't be without it. Neighbour has suggested a couple of times it should come down but I'll start an argument with them if they try to insist. I expect there's a pretty tight protection order on it in any case.
Got up early (for me) as a furniture delivery was expected 8 - 11 am and I wanted to ensure that the hoovering was done before anything was put in place. Had to hoover again after as well due to the amount of styrofoam that flaked off from 5 boxes of being opened. A 2 piece flat to the wall/dresser, a sideboard and 2 small tables. Info for delivery said they would phone 30 minutes prior to delivery so we were surprised when the door bell rang when we had just sat down to breakfast - in the room where the new stuff was going of course. And more surprised that it was only 1 person delivering. But he did a marvellous job, tidied up all the bigger bits of debris and took away the packaging so that made life easy. Off now to right the company a note to say what a marvel he was. Offered him a coffee (even could have it to go if he preferred) but he refused so gave him a tip for his lunch.
Lots of tidying required to ensure the house is in shape for the funeral party here on Wednesday. If it's done today then OH can relax while I'm at work tomorrow.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. DP1 - I bet your little one loves the film, perhaps you will too.Ruby - well swerved! Enjoy your day off.Izzy - poor wee dog, it's such a shame.Rosy - what great GPs you both are. It'll make a great memory.Nan - happy anniversary to you and Mr Nan, plus happy birthday to your beloved Dad, what a great age.Taff - I'm just imagining your up to your armpits in veg, I bet it's very tasty too.Brie - Snap! My JL delivery turned up unannounced at 9.15a.m. - they couldn't get a signal when half an hour away. The lovely chaps unwrapped the table, took it upstairs and even put the TV and box onto it for me. They too got some 'bacon roll' money.I've cleared off the portable hard drive then decided to properly format it, as opposed to doing the quick format option. Well, it took well over three hours. It's done now and ready to give to my postie as he passes them on.Time for some lunch and then I'm going to indulge myself with a re-run of my treat.7

@IzzyBee - our vet recommended putting a sweater or coat on our little dog for the evenings when fireworks might go off. I think it helps with the security feeling. Best wished to you both.4

Gers - I did enjoy it actually as did little one, though an hour 45 minutes was quite a long time for her to stay still. She ended up on my knee with her shoes off! She amused everyone around us by asking if it was nearly finished just 5 minutes after it started.. and kept up a running commentary but it was the relaxed screening so no one minded. Some of the songs were quite catchy even if they were performed by a giant crocodile!
Little kitten is home and seems fine...I expected her to be in a huff but she came running to see me and is rolling round purring. She has to go back on Thursday for a check up.
Just had the same tea as last night - gammon, cauliflower cheese and roasted veg which was just as nice second time round. It was just one of the small gammon joints from Tesco but I got loads of meat off it and it tastes lovely.4
