My contract is about to run out.
Next years proction is about £2400 for dual fuel.

Variable traffic
1 year fixed
3 tear fixed

Given that they are saying this could go up to £4,500
In April how on earth do we decide and given my old age pension is about the same as that figure

Help me to choose please
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

  • You need to give actual details of the tariffs and actual details of your usage.

Who on earth is offering a 3 year fix at the moment?!

you should probably ignore the 4500 figure for now. its far too soon for an accurate forcast i think and all thats really important is that it's an unknown risk.

it is really hard right now. we decided a few months ago to pay the early redemption charge and fix our morgage that was due to come to an end in january. we wont know until we see the actual rates in january if that was a sensible thing or not but it has been worth it for us to not be worrying. so part of any money related decisions at the moment has to include how much you might worry between now and april and that will be different for each person.

like sparky says if you could give us the details of the tariff and your annual usage (its better if you can give us kilowatts not pounds as thats best for the comparison) then someone can work out the costs but only you can decide how much risk you want to take or how much knowing what you are going to pay each month might be worth to you.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.
  • Holy cow - I've actually just found a 3 year fixed tariff on the EdF site with prices that look pretty recent - although no longer on offer to new customers.  Wow.
