Aren't balance transfers automatic?

I was accepted for a Santander balance transfer card 18 days ago now. I have the new card et al.
On the application I request to transfer the balance from my Virgin credit card, gave all the card details, etc. Yet 18 days later and they've still not done that.
Do I still wait or do I force it?

Call Santander. The balance transfer would normally have been done by now.0

Have you activated the card? Family member had similar and this was the reason0

I had a nightmare with Santander BT card, I had to do it over the phone eventually as they would claim to do the BT, then reverse it. I did it 4 times on the app, once after activating the card in the app, second after confirming on the phone the card was activated, then trying a lower amount and lastly just 1 BT rather than 2. Got the 2 done over the phone as it wouldn't work otherwise
