‘Live’ iPlayer skipping back two hours

I use iPlayer via Freeview Play on a Humax FVP5000T. When watching ‘live’, after a short period of time (varies from a few seconds to several minutes) it skips back to whatever was live 2 hours ago (based on the displayed time in the ribbon at the bottom of the screen on the News Channel/Breakfast program) - from Googling I understand this is a known issue (and has been for several years) but have been unable to find a solution. I have contacted iPlayer support via BBC website but have yet to receive a response.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
Thanks in advance for any help

Are you able to fast forward until the "end", which should in theory be the current point in the live stream?0

No, I can’t fast forward at all ( or go back or pause)
