Item left on doorstop?

I ordered a sheet from ebay. I had an email saying it had been delivered by Hermes mid-afternoon yesterday. I was in at that time, but had only got in about twenty minutes before that. The email stated the parcel had been left in a secure porch. I don't have a porch. I checked all around the property including wheelie bins etc and asked my neighbours if the parcel had been left with them, but no luck. I couldn't find an option on eBay to cover this issue. I used the 'missing parts' option in the refund request as it seemed closest. I added a photo of my door to show we have no porch and explained the issue in a note to the seller. The eBay tracking is still showing the item as delivered. Will I be entitled to a refund?

Did you get any emails for Hermes (thought they were Evri now)?
I get emails with a picture of the package/door.
the picture helps when it’s not your front door.

you’ll need to be a bit more patient but if you don’t have a secure porch then I’d say the evidence is on your side.

It sounds like you've opened a return but you should have opened an item not received claim.

As above check the tracking on the Evri site to see if there is a photo, this might help show whether it was left on your doorstep or at someone else's house.

If it was your doorstep ad it's now gone or you can't find it at a nearby house it's best to give eBay a call and explain, if the value is low they might refund you from their funds if you haven't had such goodwill refunds from them before :)

I thought they were Elvri too. The email came from EBay and it states that the courier is Hermes.

I am wondering if the delivery driver did leave it on the doorstep and someone has taken it before I got home. If that is the case, I am wondering if the seller can claim from the courier?

You need to ask for a photo (I get them automatically from evri).
they all seem to take photos These days.
then you can see if it’s your front door.
sometimes you can figure out whose front door it is e.g. number 7 rather than 17, or number 17 on a neighbouring street.

You can usually see the delivery photo - if there is one - on Evri's tracking system. You just need the tracking number and your postcode.
