Morning all,wet here too.It said drizzle on my phone when I got up- it's def not drizzle! DGD playing football at 11, are we wicked grandparents to hope it's called off ?
DGS match yesterday was spent shielding our eyes from the sun
. He is going on hols tomorrow with his DM & DSD. I think DS2 will miss his chatty lad as he sees him almost every day, but it's nice for him to get away.
I'm cooking a roast beef joint today, not had one for ages.Dp1, no you're not alone in not watching SCD ,sorry it just doesn't interest me ( or DH) We always have loads of stuff recorded too.
Right better go and find my waterproof coat! Happy Sunday all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning all, yesterday the rain held off until about 4pm so the washing was almost dry and then was finished off indoors overnight, it's now another grey damp day.
We were woken at 5.30am by 4 big quick consecutive claps of thunder, one flash of lightening and a downpour of rain, then nothing more. Mr Fix It got up but I cwtched back down and finally surfaced after 9.30am. In my defence there was no one banging about early next door so I took full advantage 😁. There is someone now though and I'll be glad when it's all done, but neighbour Tom is worried that he won't be able to sell it because of the state of the mortgage situation.
Today I should do a bit of ironing as our funeral clothes could do with a smooth over, Mr Fix It could do with a beard and hair trim and I really need to colour my roots but at the moment I'm comfy, perhaps a coffee will perk me up. Another one waiting for Dr Who, I hope the new Dr is a good one this time, only time will tell.
dp1 I don't watch SCD either.
Snoozer hope everyone gets better asap and you and Steve don't catch anything.
Coxy well done on the stone loss, I can't even seem to lose an argument !
Take care and hugs to the poorly ones or anyone struggling with daily life.

I went to the canal, here's a couple of views. The sea lock isn't quite empty yet but still looks well on the way. And all the boats are gone from the two marinas. Must be major work being done.Snoozer - I hope that you can keep lurgy free!DP1 - I tried HMT and found it too disturbing although I enjoy a lot of the author's other books,Talking of books, I downloaded the new Rebus audio book yesterday, I tend to listen to them in the car so got myself engrossed again today. So far...so good!7

Oh I like the drained canal!!
Unfortunately when I was visiting my mom last week the Welland Canal still hadn't been emptied for winter. (it's the one used to get the big laker boats around Niagara Falls so goes 30 miles between Lakes Erie and Ontario) It's always pretty spectacular (& weird) to see the canal and the locks empty.
Not a SCD fan so can't comment on that. The clapping thunder was a thing this morning but it was the flashing lightening that woke me really - thought someone was turning their headlights on and off repeatedly!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Afternoon all
It's grey and wet on the Kent coast. I've been having a bit of a cooking weekend. Yesterday I made a huge batch of brocolli and stilton soup. Today I've made Dorset apple cake, fruit and nut flapjacks, dinner tonight is homemade steak and ale pie. I cooked the steak overnight in the slocooker. I love cooking at this time of year. DP being a Northern boy does like a good pie so does DS. Off to do some ironing.
Have a good day all
