Yesterday was mostly dry, only some light drizzle to dampen my edges.I did another long drive to deposit a boot full of stuff to my favourite CS. Two sets of very good bedding (no spare bedroom anymore), assorted jumpers (too big), two lovely handmade wall hangings and other bits and pieces. Now I feel better for having more space. Mind you, two new jumpers arrived in the post 😀 to take up some of that space. The jumper I wore for most of last winter has developed a large hole in one elbow but it's just so cosy when over a cotton T-shirt and a fine woollen layer. I can't really wear it outside the home anymore. On the way home I drove along the canal road. The canal has been drained completely, I had to stop to look at the construction of it, especially the bit built by Thomas Telford. The sides of the canal aren't completely vertical (which surprised me) but slant down. Now I'll have to do some online searching about it.SCD was rather weird last night. Great TV theme tunes don't generally make for great dancing, I'm glad that it's over.As for today, I need to do some shopping for things I forgot to get yesterday. I was distracted by bumping into an long-time friend who I hadn't seen for over a year but had texted him two days ago. Serendipity always makes me happy.Right, I have coffee to drink before finally facing the world. Happy Dr Who Sunday to all. 🎉10

Morning from a wet and dismal part of coastal Kent. Plans today are for some candle making and will have a go at air drying some clay and decorate.
I am currently researching the air fryers etc, my goodness, what a choice !
Have a good day everyone.

Morning All
It's a bit brighter this morning, yesterday turned into a really wet dismal afternoon. Thankfully it was dry when I went to clear the allotment beds. The chaps there are going to put some manure on for me this week so it will have all winter to do it's stuff.
Washing all dried and put away, I've even ironed the two things that were there, the last of the summer clothes are ready to go away for the winter. The rest of the house is clean and fairly tidy, must get some salad stuff in ready for my packed lunches this week, it'll be a struggle to buy tomatoes, haven't had to buy any for ages with such a good crop from the greenhouse.
I've never seen a drained canal Gers, are they doing repairs?
Happy candle making Carolbee.
Missing you Marie, Poppy and Mehefin.
Have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX9 -
Camelot - the lock gates are being repaired / replaced / painted - any of these. When I go out I'll take a detour and a photo.
The transit season on the Crinan Canal ends on Monday 26 September, after which the canal will be drained for major engineering works. No sea lock entry will be possible after Monday 26 September

Morning all. Wet and dull here, which is probably why I didn't wake up until after 8am.
DH is currently still in bed with his cup of tea and I'm contemplating a peaceful Sunday. I do have some ironing to do then I plan to make some shortbread to take to a friend we are meeting up with tomorrow and then watch the rugby on tv. I also need to practice the 5 new tunes for Tuesday night, although I do already know one of them.
Yesterday we went pumpkin picking with DD and family. It's our 3rd year going and we enjoy the fact that it's a small, family run farm; not a big commercial exercise. This year they had 6 small pedal tractors in the barn and DGS really wanted to just stay in that bit all day. We did get him out eventually but then he was upset when the tractor ride was only in the trailer, not the actual tractor!
Off to make more tea. Happy Sunday everyone.10 -
Morning everyone
Had a lovely morning at the library with little one yesterday - read some stories, chose her books and did some crafts. She likes to scan and stamp the dates on her books by herself...the ladies who work there are lovely and one I've known for years as her girls went to first school with mine. They always make a big fuss of her.
Then we went to mam and dads for lunch then home and DD picked her up as they were staying in a glamping pod overnight with friends. I had a lovely peaceful afternoon reading.
Carolbee - years ago my youngest DD was given a candle making kit for Christmas - for some reason she poured some wax down the sink and blocked it! She denied it up till the point my brother showed her the wax he pulled out.
Gers it's happy Handmaids Tale Sunday for me - I just realised there's a new season starts tonight. I do think they've gone on too long with it now and should have ended it at the end of last season, but I'll still watch and enjoy.
I think I must be the only one on here who doesn't watch Strictly - I like to catch up on things I've recorded on a Saturday night.
Well I'm going to get my ironing done before I go down the hill to sit with dad while mam is at church. I have a gammon to put in the slow cooker with a can of coke - I'll have some tonight with cauliflower cheese and freeze some and use the rest during the week.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all and thanks for the thread @Gers x
Didn't manage to post yesterday. Went to FC (lost 2lbs, received my 1 stone award, won slimmer of the week, plus the raffle - told consultant to pick another ticket) then went straight to DMum's and we went out for lunch and a mooch around the local market town. Finished off with a trip to Essex for Co$tco, Dunelm and Home$ense. I had a nice bath and face mask and was tucked up in bed by 10pm absolutely shattered.
DH and I are visiting DD in Brighton today. Weather is foul - woke up to thunder and lightning and torrential rain. Not set to get any better today unfortunately.
DH managed to drop 6 sacks of clothing at the CS yesterday but they wouldn't take the books (mainly gardening reference books) so will have to find somewhere else that will take them.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to the poorlies x

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. What a miserable start here, we are shrouded in a thick mist and heavy rain is forecast for later. I have the wm on the go but when it finishes it will have to festoon the back bedroom to dry.
GERS I have a scruffy indoor woolly too and I'm not sure how much longer I can fashion to wear it! I got it in the Wool Mill (Shop?) in Inveraray some 8 or 9 years ago and it's been well worth the cost. It's bright red wool with a fleece lining and hood and so cosy but it's really seen better days! This may be its last winter before it hits the rag bag!
I wasn't impressed with Strictly either, they are having too many theme weeks now. Certain dancers were overmarked as usual and Ellie T was undermarked yet again. But Hamza remains my favourite!
DS came as promised yesterday and fixed quite a few things for me. The shower screen is now safely off, the lock on the kitchen door into the garage has been replaced and the bolts inside the big garage doors have been re-aligned and are now easier to pull on. None of the jobs as easy as they sound, nothing ever is, is it!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone I agree Gers about strictly not good music to dance to just have to look forward to next week apparently we had a good show of the northern lights here last night can’t see a hand in front of us now and it’s forecast to rain all day. I’ve got a small beef joint out for later I will do veg and Yorkshire puddings otherwise not a lot going on even the dogs snoozing. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Hi everyone,
I agree on SCD, it was very contrived but I did love Helen's and Hamza's dances.
The weather is awful here, we were woken with torrential rain so I don't know if Ziggy will get a walk. We are living in a house of pestilence. L,B and E are all ill. Brian spent yesterday in bed (man flu, he didn't seem any worse than Laura) and looks set to spend today there as well (insert roll-eye emoji). I just hope Steve and I don't catch their germs.
Esben is eating very little and had a very high temperature last night but he seems a bit better today although he spotted some chocolate and had a tantrum when we said he couldn't have it for breakfast.
Steve took Chris and Crystal to pick up her new car (her old one was a tiny 2 door fiat, impossible with a baby seat) so hopefully she will be mobile now, she just needs to get used to the size difference.
We need to decide what to do for dinner, I don't know if people will have the appetite for a roast.
Have a good day.
