    Abbey pays 6% on 16-18 current account. Electron card, cheque book, DDs, standing orders, etc.

    Incidentally, to correct you on a technicality, if he's wanting to make payments into a cash ISA it's a standing order he'd need, not a direct debit. Any account that lets you set up one should let you set up the other, though.
