Santander 123 upgrade

Hello,
Is it possible to upgrade to a santander 123 account from a basic santander current account without chaning account details?
I tried this from the online access but during the process I am asked to provide existing account details which seems a bit strange for a simple upgrade.
Thanks

Security i presume, of your money.0

It perhaps depends on exactly what you mean by 'account details', but they'd obviously need to know what account you're trying to upgrade?MarcoM said:Is it possible to upgrade to a santander 123 account from a basic santander current account without chaning account details?

Yes, it's weird. But it doesn't change your account number or sort code.MarcoM said:Hello,

It will change your statement period etc, so you might want to avoid upgrading it around the time your direct debits go out/you get paid as it will cause you issues with cashback.
I have an outstanding complaint about that...

ThanksIt's not that strange. It's possible to have more than 1 Santander current account, so the form needs to know which account you'd like to upgrade. I've not used this specific form but in many cases the upgrade form is completely blind to any account details so you have to key it all in, then a human actually actions the changes. Natwest Group is like that, as is TSB in some cases (although moving between Spend & Save and Spend & Save Plus is automated). It's just a poor UX.1 -

I have an outstanding complaint about that...It's been the case for many a year that if you change your product at Santander it resets your monthly date. Unike some other banks Santander run from (say) the 15th to the 14th, and not the 1st to the 30th/31st.If you were to go from one 123 account to the other (full to Lite or Lite to full) you should get any interest (if applicable) and any cashback that hasn't been paid up to the point you moved.1 -
Hi again,
I have actually not received any email regarding this change and the account still shows as current everyday account rather than 123.
How long did your take to upgrade?0 -
If you requested the upgrade at the weekend, it might no t get processed until sometime today. I would give them until tomorrow, then call to ask when it will be completed. Or if you can't wait until tomorrow, call them right away.1
