Denied credit - mortgage?

Tried to purchase a sofa yesterday with Divideby (spread the cost over 12 months interest free) and was informed I was denied the credit. I have a good credit score, no missed payments, etc. I have however, purchased my own house last month so I now have a mortgage and proof of living in that house for one month (they didn’t ask for previous address history). Could this be why they have turned down my application?

Yes, recently buying a house makes it awkward to obtain credit for a few months as your credit reports need to update.
Ensure you've informed all financial institutions of your new address and applied to go on the electoral roll.
Ignore the credit score it's the credit history financial institutions see and use when assessing applications.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
