Help with market research for small buisness idea!

Hi Guys,
I have been thinking about possibly one day running my own little business, doing PC field repairs (door to door) like standard desktop repairs, upgrades, etc etc. Possibly going on to custom pc building and maybe a small supply chain. Who knows?

Anybody know any good free advice websites or ebooks regarding this, AND somewhere that I can learn about and eventually conduct market research, as I am looking to build up a business plan gradually. But I just want to learn more to see what I could be letting myself in for,

IndieRocker85, my advice is as follows;

1. Know you market sector. Are you trying to compete with PCWorld?
2. How are you going to reach your target demographic?
3. How do you aim to make money ie. profit?

Answer the 3rd question first...
