Agree 100%.
I keep my own budgets. It's not impossible but I have to work out how much I've actually spent vs how much credit they are holding, so I actually find it harder to go fixed.0 -
Disagree 100%.
I could keep my own budget, but why should I bother. I have this fabulous service where my payments don't change massively from month to month just the same as my salary doesn't change massively from month to month - and there is no risk of using the budgeted money for some other emergency expense.
"It's right for me" doesn't equate to "if you can budget then you should switch". It may not be right for very many people.

However from the calculations I've done for several households they take the mick (and I know it has to cover winter).
I've calculated on actual usage (and that's worst case scenario as most people are making efforts to cut down) and they want a lot more than that.
If you don't mind being in credit then I think people should have the choice - which of course they do have.
I do mind both not having true visibility of the bills and them having my cash - and of course I have the choice.
So there isn't really an issue to argue about as by and large people have free choice.1 -

Both are legitimate, both work for different people. Find your preference and make your choice.1
