Can I double check Sainsbury's Bank offer made on MSE on a particular date?

Options
Hi, I'm almost certain the MSE page showed Sainsbury's Bank offering 14 months interest free period and 0% balance transfer fee when I applied for their credit card on 22/9/22 via the MSE page. My balance transfer went through on 19/10/22 but I noticed that Sainsbury's Bank charged 1% balance transfer fee. Is there a way I can double check the details of the Sainsbury's Bank offer made on MSE when I applied? Thanks.

This has been on the forum before, the MSE info was that people get either 22 months at 0% fee, 14 months at 0% fee or 14 months at 1% fee. Not everyone gets the best offers, they only have to offer it to 51% of successful applicants

The offer is still on the MSE site here:

  • Thanks for explaining. I read "Sainsbury's Bank, 0% btf, 22 months interest free" and applied. If I'd read the MSE page more carefully I'd have known only the offers via the Eligibility Calculator were guaranteed and I would have ended up with a better deal with Virgin. More haste less speed!
  • They're always going to be subject to final checks to ensure what you put in the application matches the credit record. There is of course no guarantee the Virgin one was going to be successful either - I thought that was 16 months at 3% fee anyway? I'd suggest using the Sainsbury's card anyway and apply in say 10-11 months or so while paying it down when your lower debt will make you look more attractive. Plan too for not getting another card and thus how you will pay it off before the end.
