Shell Energy Direct Debit
I notice my DD for Shell Energy this month has been reduced by the amount of the Govt support. This despite my account saying yesterday my DD would be normal amount (& the same for next month). Last month’s support just showed as a credit on my account in addition to my DD.
Wish they would be consistent in how they are going to treat it ! Bit frustrating this month as I have Santander account with increased cashback this month !

I’m in the same boat with the Santander cashback, they’re pretty shrewd and I’m sure the timing of the doubling of the % rate for cashback and the subsidies kicking in isn’t all coincidence!
On the application of the subsidy to our accounts by Shell (I’m with them too
) I thought the email in September (received mine on 15th Sep) was fairly clear and was definitely expecting my Direct Debit to be reduced by £66/67 during the relevant months.
Extract:-How does the discount work? You’ll automatically receive a discount to your monthly Direct Debit payment. For example, if your monthly Direct Debit is £200, we’ll deduct £66 in October, leaving you £134 to pay. If you usually pay less than £66/£67, we won’t collect payment from you that month. Anything leftover will be applied as a credit to your energy account.

Last month’s support
???
There was no support payment in place before 1st October
I suspect your confusion is over monthly payment and DD. Your monthly payment is staying the same, it is just that you are not paying all of it.

could be there billing period and dd arent the same? maybe runs from the 20th to 19th. so last month would have inc 1 oct payment and full dd (taken 20th September). this month they pay the dd on 20th oct and its been reduced because of the 1st oct payment. there bill for this period then would include the 1st nov payment. all works out the same at the end.molerat said:Last month’s support???

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
Yes, in my last bill (which ran to 2nd October, these are monthly) it showed total payments as £66 higher than I actually paid. My DD taken in October was reduced by £66.0

Can't you just sort it by altering the DDRedImp_2 said:I notice my DD for Shell Energy this month has been reduced by the amount of the Govt support. I had, what was taken was not what is stated of course so I would have to increase by another £66 if that’s what you mean. Too late for Santander cashback in any case.HumberFlyer said:
