Santander Tel and Online ID link

Hi
Just wondering if any Santander customers know how to break the link between telephone and online banking that share an ID. This seems to be an historical thing.
Cheers

I am sure if you are locked out of your account, you are locked out for all methods of access - online, app, telephone and Brnach. You have to get your account unblocked to get any access.2

It's just my digital ID so I either go into branch or use the post but I was told the reason I can't reset online is because of this connection between the online, app and Tel ID.

I'm not sure you can break the link, it's probably designed like that on purpose, but Santander should be able to tell you for sure whether it's possible and, if so, how to do it.1

I don't know if my recent experience will help you achieve what you want.I already had a 123 Lite current account with ID number for online and telephone banking (although I've never used the latter) and also at a later date for app banking. I've now opened an eSaver account for the 2.75% interest and for some reason they have sent me a new personal ID number along with temporary password and security number. The original one still works to access both accounts through the app so I haven't tried the new details, but it might be possible that if the original one gets locked out the new one might still work.Of course, the ideal solution is not to get locked out in the first place, and touch wood that's never happened to me, probably because I've never done anything that Santander might consider to be dodgy.1

Just in case someone has a similar problem my digital access has now been sorted but not without some anxiety. I received a new pin in the post today but it also did not work. This is where my anxiety levels raised and I started to worry my account had been compromised. Luckily an hour later all is well. With the help of a very capable customer service guy I have now re-registered. Everything now working fine and I'm now no longer part of there legacy system which seems to have triggered the problem in the first place
