Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Still dark here. I have my covid booster booked in for this morning, so will need to dig out a mask. Work should be fairly light today as senior management team (including boss) are at an awayday from 10-3 - will be interesting to see if we still have a health secretary when I log on... I find it both fascinating and totally embarrassing @Gers !!
Dinner tonight is SW kedgeree - lovely but a bit pongy. Will be seeing my neighbour for a cuppa and catch up after work. FC tomorrow morning and I pre-bought 12 weeks of group membership which entitled me to a new soup recipe book. Am looking forward to seeing what new recipes it has. I have a soup maker (gift from DMum for C one year) and it's very economical and easy to use.
Did 'extreme ironing' last night to up my step count. Basically, iron one item, put on hanger/fold and go upstairs to put it away. Had about 25 items to do, but step count still only on 4.6k after dinner, so I went out for a walk, following my old 5k running route. Took about an hour and only one scary moment when a guy came jogging up behind me. You'd have thought he'd have crossed over the road! It's all lit, residential streets plus I walk past a station, but as a woman you (unfortunately) can never be complacent. Finished the day on 12.6k steps. I'm trying to do 10k per day which is hard when WFH!
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay - Mr Nanny's injections sound so painful xx
Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's dark and misty this morning but the forecast for heavy rain has been amended to light rain. Small bonus!
Just a dust and vac all round day. I am still awaiting my single duvet covers which were due yesterday so stripping the bed may or may not get done today! The actual duvets arrived Monday (different supplier) so they are patiently waiting on a spare bed.
IZZY your boss's wife needs to think carefully before opening her mouth. If you suddenly told them what to do with their job they would never find another hard worker like you. GERS you did right, life is too short to drink unpalatable soup!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all.Coxy - love extreme ironing! Mind you, I stopped ironing more than 15 years ago. 😀
TA - Royal Mail was on strike yesterday so 🤞that they appear today.Yesterday morning was a flurry of activity. TV all sorted nicely. Only one slight hiccup when the bloke had to move his transit from outside my house to let the lovely farmer get down the lane with his tractor and low- loader carrying a huge digger. Meanwhile I made a much more decent lentil soup. Coxy - I've got a soup maker too but only used it twice as I usually prefer to make a big pan load. Luckily, the terrible soup wasn't so much.I got very distracted by the news so spent far too long watching TV so didn't do anything much. This morning I'm off for a haircut and to get my roots done. This is exactly why I never wanted my grey covered up previously, there's either so much maintenance to do or let it grow out which looks grotty. Anyway, my hairdresser is over an hours drive away, right down the east side of the peninsula. With a bit of luck the weather should be fair and I'll be able to enjoy the beautiful sea views.Take care everyone. Happy Friday to all.11 -
Morning all
It's s grey old day here in Kent. I'm off to do my last 2 cleaning jobs of the week. I'm going through one of my insomnia phases at the moment hopefully it will settle down soon. Dinner last night was Moroccan chicken and cous cous. Tonight we are out with friends so we'll have a pub meal.
Have a fabulous day all9 -
Morning all, food shopping first thing, then I’ll walk a longer way to the library along the prom to pick up an ordered book and enjoy the sea view.
candle making with a friend later, then dinner at families house and our weekly games evening
have a good day everyone

Morning All
Damp and dreary again this morning, this rain is never ending. I've done a wash load and will hang that up shortly, may have to do some 'extreme' ironing tomorrow Coxy, what a good idea.
Hope Mr Nanny is OK, those jabs sound painful.
Hope your duvet covers arrive soon TA.
What a horror your boss is Izzy, don't know how you do it.
The stove chap came yesterday and all is fine thank goodness, I had a rather large sigh of relief!
Not sure what I'll be doing today but it really should involve some sort of exercise.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Hi everyone,
I hope everyone's well and warm, without being too political, after the events of yesterday I just wish the whole shower to perdition, far too much time is being taken up by in-fighting than actually governing the country.
We're still by ourselves, we expected the travellers home on Wednesday night but Laura has been ill and there were a few last minute jobs to do so they have stayed until this morning. I'm looking forward to having the little man back even if I know the house will descend into chaos after a few minutes, it's worth it.
We saw Crystal and Nate on Wednesday and I got in a few lovely cuddles. He is still being plagued by the colic but they just have to ride it out for the time being, the Dr told them most cases resolve by 13 weeks so they have 4 weeks to go. As has Laura with her pregnancy although she's expecting the baby will be late like Esben.
I want to make a batch of chicken curry for Esben (his absolute favourite) he eats a lot of it because he's very picky about what else he eats. I'll also make a batch of veggie flapjacks which he used to love and then went off for some reason I want to try him with them again.
Have a good day.

Morning all. Dull and dreary here again.
I've already put one load of washing in the machine but it won't get outside to dry today. There's a phone call I need to make at 10am and I really need to also phone the dentist to make an appointment for a check up. They've already chased me about it once.
After that I'm meeting three friends for lunch at Luton Hoo. Its location means it's a similar length drive for all of us as we're all coming from different directions. Have defrosted the last portion of lasagne for DH as I doubt I'll want anything major to eat this evening.
The scales are still on a downwards trajectory and I've lost just over a stone since April, eating low carb. I don't follow it religiously but it seems to work for me and I eat far fewer cakes, biscuits, puddings than I used to. Will keep going for a while longer as I'd like to lose another half a stone or so.
Happy Friday everyone.9 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here but its been raining in the night I think, I have put a wash on and that can go on the line for a while.
Day off for me today which is bliss ! I really enjoy my new job but its nice to have no one coming to the house ! I shall have a quick tidy round and then take the dogs out for a walk.
We are treating ourselves to a Chinese tonight so no cookingand it should be tasty.
Im going to try and have a nap later as I dont seem to be sleeping too well, I go through stages like this so hopefully it will pass soon.
Nanny I hope Mr fix it is ok xx
Have good days all xx8 -
