I have had my Aqua credit card for over a decade. I needed it way back then, and my credit score is very good now, and has been for several years. Is there any disadvantage to keeping using this card? Or is it six and half a dozen? I always pay off the full amount right away. My thinking was along the lines that as it's a card aimed at people trying to build credit, it may in someway disadvantage your score if your credit score is already very good. This may well be nonsense.

    Yes.

Score means nothing - only you see it.

    What's important is a well-managed credit history.

No other lender will see that you have an Aqua card - only that you have a credit account.

If you're paying your balance in full each month, then you're using your card well, and it will reflect in your credit history.

Do you have other credit cards as well?

I didn't know if they saw that info and made any judgements, so thanks for clarifying. Yes, I have one other card, again paid off in full every month. Thanks for the info.

Two well managed cards will certainly give you a positive credit history. Keep up the good work! If your magic score goes up a bit or down a bit - don't worry. Future lenders will only be interested in how you managed the account.

I use my Capital One card every month, is my oldest card, it never has BT etc. A card for credit building.  Good to not mix spending and BT on cards, so I use the Capital One for spending and pay it off in full every month no interest, and maintains good behaviour.
