Condition of bricks below DPC

So thanks to advice from forumites, I borrowed an angle grinder and hired a breaker to carve out a trench in our driveway which had been put in level with the DPC. Still got some soil to remove but already the condition of some of the bricks and pointing below the DPC is concerning and the airbrick is almost crumbling away (it was blocked up when the CWI was installed in 2011 I believe). Is this something I can DIY? I’m confident with pointing but if several bricks need replacing from water saturation then is it a job for a builder?

You could replace them yourself. The ones below DPC look like splits, as they got the brickwork below a bit high. You will probably find the DPC breaks up, so stick a new piece in.1

Just noticed you have CWI. If it's beads, you might find they start to fall out.0

Ah it’s ok- it’s mineral wool but it will be useful to spy on the condition of it nonethelessSmart Tech Specialist with Octopus Energy Services (all views my own). 4.44kW SW Facing in-roof array with 3.6kW Givenergy Gen 2 Hybrid inverter and 9.5kWh Givenergy battery. 9kW Panasonic Aquarea L (R290) ASHP. #gasfree since July ‘230
