deferred pension

I want to claim my deferred pension lump sum which was stopped without any info to myself. I phoned to say I was deferring my pension in 2016 and was informed all I had to do was call to claim my pension when I wanted to take it . they never said it would not be paid out in a lump sum.
has anyone any help on where to go now can we start a petition to have my own (everybody) paid out there deferred pension it is our money that we have paid in for years

    I assume OP is referring to a post 2016 state pension.  If so there is no lump sum, only an increased pension. The rules changed in April 2016 and there is nothing you can do about it, the new rules were available to everyone.

    You reached State Pension Age on or after 6/4/16?

    If so, the lump sum option is not available.

  • I too am having problems collecting my (very small) pension.  The pension provider wants to know my height and weight as well as my mental health status and hobbies.  Is this the usual practice?

    If it's a defined benefit scheme, then no, it's not usual practice.

    If you are trying to buy an annuity with your defined contribution 'pot', then the provider is asking these questions to see if you qualify for 'better than usual' rates, so yes, it's normal and it could be in your interests to answer fully, especially if you are overweight, have dangerous hobbies(!)...

    If you are taking your 'very small' pension entirely as a one-off lump sum, or have chosen to go into drawdown, then you wouldn't expect to answer questions like this because they aren't relevant to the provider.

    Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
