This is the link to information about the government’s Future Pension Centre
https://www.gov.uk/future-pension-centre
For people who haven’t got their State Pension yet they’re very helpful. It’s a good idea to look your Pension up using the link above if you can (you need your National Insurance number to do this) and read all the information and then phone them.
You have to wait a long time for them to answer but it’s worth it when you eventually get through.
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.1 -
By Government pension do you mean the State Pension or an occupation pension paid because you worked for the government?
If the latter how lang & when did you work for them?0 -
If you reached your state pension age on or after 6 April 2016, there is no option to take a lump sum payment. I'm afraid that saying you 'weren't told' won't change that.romar2021 said:Looking to find a way to have my deferred pension paid back/ the deferred pension is no longer paid back in lump sum/ was not informed about this change and did not take my pension/ i would have taken my pension if i had known. although the leump sum is not paid back I am getting extra on my pension but it is a small amount / if i live long enough at the rate they pay it will take years

can anybody help?Did you reach State Pension age before or after 5th April 2016 ?If before then you had an option to take your deferred option as a lump sum - you should have had a letter when you requested it giving you the choice of either a lump sum or an increased weekly amount. If after, then you are correct that the lump sum is no longer an option - there is nothing you can do about it.Either way, I think the options avaiable to you on deferral would / should have been outlined to you in your original letter from the DWP Pension Service sent when you approached State Pension Age inviting you to claim your State Pension.
