Sainsbury's Energy do they have variable direct debits?

Before I end up on hold for ages on my exorbitant Asda mobile tariff, do Sainsbury's Energy have the option to pay by monthly variable direct debits?

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.
  • E.ON Next do so there’s no reason why they wouldn’t.

I'm on a fixed deal until October 2023. I think it's a condition that you pay by a fixed monthly DD.

Eon Next do a VDD option - the critical thing is having a direct debit setup.

I thought I would get a quicker response here but as no one seems to know I will wait for Sainsbury's Energy email response.

I have asked them recently, but they went off on a tangent about if I wanted to control the amount of energy spending I needed to have a smart meter fitted and when would I like it installed, it's better for me and the environment they said, at which point I decided I wasn't getting anywhere, said I'm fine with my current installation and lets leave everything how it is currently.

I have a smart meter and they use that info to generate my bills.

    Still no definitive answer.
  • It seems that Sainsbury's Energy do do variable direct debits.

I just had a reply from someone at Eon and have switched to a variable direct debit.
