If you generate an invoice/packing slip after payment (GSP sales are supposed to be sent with one) it will show how much the buyer has paid in postage and customs fees.

If you want to preview so to speak, the easiest way I found is to sign out of eBay, go to ebay.com and locate your listing without signing in.
It will contain the USA price and a drop down table to see the price for other countries.

Also yes, you will be able to tell on a listing whether the seller uses GSP.

So what do I look for please?

This should give you an idea.

  • Do you need to be able to print things off for GSP or can you just put a stamp on the envelope and send it off? I don't have a printer, so will have to make sure not to opt in if it needs a printed invoice or a shipping label.

The terms and conditions say an order packing slip should be included, but I sent half a dozen off without one before I realised.

I'm sure a hand written one would serve just as well as a print out.

As for postage you can use stamps if you want to.

Thanks, @KxMx - most of the stuff I sell is flat enough to just go in an envelope and then in a postbox, so good to know that anyone in Cyprus who wants a 1992 Arsenal match program will be able to get it!

Postage Tips (others may not agree but this is what I do)

Royal Mail - 2nd class - I use this for items up to £20 that, when packed, measure less than 45cm x 35cm x 16cm - it costs £3.35 but you can save 50p by using click and drop and either print your own label or RM are offering a free collection service up until the end of 2022.

Evri (was Hermes) - I use this for items under 1kg which are larger than 45cm x 35cm x 16cm.  I've never really experienced any problems with them.  It costs an additional 75p for collection so I tend to drop parcles myself at a parcel shop/locker.

Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

I don’t think they insist on a printed label, but you will need to be ultra careful writing down the long code that is in a GSP address that they give you. If it can’t be read then the parcel might not be accepted at the eBay hub as it cannot be posted onwards

I’ve never included an order slip and never had an issue.

  • If this weekend follows the pattern of the past few, it's going to be 70% off FVF, although obviously no guarantees there. If I queue something today to start on Saturday, and then accept the 70% offer on Friday, will the item I've queued still be eligible?
