Thank you to @steviebabes on the main thread here FREE LISTING email alerts - no chat - Page 65 — MoneySavingExpert Forum

I thought this a timely reminder that whilst we are all getting used to these happening every 2 weeks they might and have in the past stopped for months on end, so it might be worth making use of them just in case. This is also a busy time on ebay, many sellers start seeing their sales increase in the run up to Christmas and whilst this post is aimed at private sellers it is worth remembering that many private sellers clearing out toy boxes, or collectables may well have something unique and ideal for a present for an otherwise 'difficult' friend or relative.

No email or message re 80% off but it is there to activate under 'overview' Also there is 'list anything by 25 Oct to get a chance of winning £500 on ebay' - again, has to be activated to opt-in.

Worth listing anything - one persons trash is another persons treasure, etc

I just sold a very 'trashy' item to a production company - I wasn't even going to take it to the charity shop but I thought I give it one try on ebay.

When I click on the links in the other thread, it says the offers have expired so I guess they’ve not been offered to me.

I got the same when I tried to follow and activate the £1 max fee's link. lol
If you are offered any then it will show up on your eBay account on the Friday - I generally activate from there...

I wonder what eBays requirements are to be eligible for each offer though. I used to get the max £1 fee offer every time, then it changed to the 80% offer, which I now get every other week..... wondering if that's going to drop to 70% soon.....

Mine have been 70% for a few months now, not had an 80% for ages.

Must be a threshold - once passed they start to reduce the discount in order to make more money from each sale themselves.....
