Nice to "see" you. Glad you enjoyed your holiday and had a catch up with your relative.

Welcome back. Glad you had a lovely break. Are the neighbours with the barking dog likely to be long term? Hopefully not 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Glad you had a good holiday. You can report the dog to your local dog warden. You will need to take notes on when it barks and for how long to prove there is a problem as well as have the recordings. It is expected that dogs will bark but they will decide if it is excessive.. You could approach the landlord if you know contact details or happen to see him.

Makingabobor2 said:Yes I understand it might bark sometimes, but this is several hours at a time, continuous. It obviously doesn't like being alone. I don't want to report it as being a nuisance, I'm more concerned the poor thing is distressed. It shouldn't be left alone for so longIt sounds as though the dog may have separation anxiety from being left alone too long. I can never understand why people who work and are away for long periods choose to have a dog. They could at least use doggy day care or a dog walker to relieve some of the stress. It can be sorted but takes a lot of work and dedication. As has been said it might be worth talking to her in the vein of "Is your dog ok as it is barking for a long periods when you are out". I know you dont want to do this but acting as a concerned neighbour rather than a critical one might just take her anger away. Sometimes people just dont realise. If that doesnt work talk to the dog warden service. They may be prepared to come and talk to her without any further action being taken.

Thanks for the advice re the dog. Its a hard one as I want the dog to be ok and I do feel that it is left alone for too long and quite clearly is distressed, but on the other hand, I don't want the owner to know it was me that reported them....if I do. So if I talk to them first, then it will be obvious it is me. Its been barking about 2 hours this afternoon, non stop. Will see what happens tomorrow.
So a good day food shopping today. Went to L!d!, Mr S and Mr M as they are all close together. Main shopping in L!d! and just a few bits from Mr S that I can't get there, and in Mr M it was just a dash round the reduced section....bread, salad and apples. Saved over £12 on yellow & orange sticker items, and special offers. Freezer is now quite full and tomorrow I am going to do a bit of batch cooking/baking.
Also qualified for the free fruit item and a free baker item in L!d!. Just got to make sure to plan to go within the next 7 days to get it.
The tentacled ones emailed to say they are putting our payment up from £135 to £152! Don't think so!! We are £200 in credit, so really can't see the need for it. I have been online and changed it back down again.
Just one P/fc study today, been a bit slow this week. Hopefully be better tomorrow as I will be in most of the day and can leave it logged in.
DH has to take the car to the garage on Thursday, thinks there's a problem with the ABS cutting in and might be the speed sensors or something. Normally his mate who is a mechanic does it, but he has a bad back and can't lay under the car at the moment. So hoping its not too expensive and an easy fix. MOT is due by Dec, so want it to be ok for that.
I put all the remaining tomatoes in a bag with a banana, but so far only 1 has ripened. Am I doing it wrong? Just used a normal paper bag. Should it have been a brown one? Or should I put it in a warm airing cupboard or something? should I change the banana after a few days? Been in there about 2 weeks now.
Well, best get on with some dinner. Have a good evening all.

Those tomatoes do seem to be taking their time, @Makingabobor2. I don't really see why the type of paper bag would matter (unless there's some sciencey stuff I don't know about?). Mine always go in one of those brown paper carrier-type bags, top rolled over & pegged shut. I never bother enclosing a banana, but do always make sure there's a ripe tomato in there to help them along. My bag is just in our pantry, which is cool, as has an air-vent through an outside wall. When I last removed the ripe ones & shut the bag up again last week, there were lots of green ones still in there & some semi-ripe, so I will see what they are looking like this week.

With the free fruit item from L's you might want to put your most expensive fruit through separately as if you use the voucher on the whole shop it will give you the cheapest fruit free, ask me how I know 🤦♀️. Actually I didn't make that mistake but very nearly did!1
