just a quick update as its so hard to type left handed, still got plaster on for another 2 weeks!! Then they say it can come off and start physio. S0 apologies for typos.
I miss being able to write properly, so my shiny new budget book looks sorry for itself. miss driving as well. Not done so many surveys as that's hard left handed as well.
On the plus side, today is the start of new budget 4 week period, so few payments/savings made and sig updated. Grocery budget may be a bit off as I have to rely on online or DD. DH hasnt got time to shop as well as all the other things he is helping me. Also having to think og dinnrs that can be done one handed or he can help prepare. T. BH, its all making me a bit tired as not sleeping too well either,
Anyway, that's all from me today. I have been reading all your diaries, just not commenting much ATMMaking the debt go down and savings go up

You’ve done well typing all that with your left hand. I’ve broken both my legs in the past 6 years (not at the same time 😆) and I think it was easier than breaking an arm/wrist so you have my sympathy, it must be really awkward for you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Thanks @Sun_Addict, it did take ages to type it lol. Both legs in 6yrs sounds awful. It must be all that exercise you do.

Just thinking about typing, if you use your phone does it have the dictate option? I use mine quite a bit and despite having to ‘lose the Barnsley accent’ it works quite well.

Is it your dominant arm? You have my sympathy either way, I had mine in plaster for 2 weeks and splint for 8 weeks over the summer. It made life very difficult. Hope you have a speedy recovery!*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

Ys @Sarahwithlove, it is my dominant hand. i was in plaster for 4 weeks and now been out of plaster 2 weeks. Had 1st physio and hope things are improving slowly, but seems to still be painful and certainly not bending anywhere near what I was expecting it to do yet.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Well, I was all ready to type a long post saying I am back and let everyone know where things are at, but I noticed that I haven't been getting any notifications since Friday. So I checked the threads I have bookmarked and there are new posts on them, but I haven't been notified. So I've been into profile and unchecked my notification preferences and re set the, but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. So before I spend ages typing out a long post, I just want to make sure that people are actually getting notifications...or is it just me?Making the debt go down and savings go up

Welcome back 🙂 I don’t set notifications so can’t help you on that score. Good to see you back though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Thanks @Sun_Addict, I'll carry on then and hope that people are seeing the posts. Don't know why my notifications aren't working, I've just tried resetting them again and still no luck. I'll just have to rely on going down the list of bookmarked threads every day.
Anyway, I decided its time I started posting again. i can just about manage to type on the laptop with 2 hands, but not quite using all fingers yet & hand is in a strange position. Still quite painful, swelling is up and down a bit, depending on what i do. I have had my 1st physio appointment and got to go back in 3 weeks. Back at trauma clinic in 2 weeks for another xray. I think I have maybe been expecting miracles and getting frustrated as I still can't do as much as I would like to be doing. Not allowed to start lifting weights yet for exercise, and will be a long time until I can drive....so looking forward to that. Although it will probably be bad weather by then and I won't want to drive it its icy...lol
So while I have been AWOL, I have been trying to keep my eye on the budgets, although the book hasn't been filled in much as I didn't want it messed up with left handed writing, which looks worse than my 7 yr old GS's...lol. My 4 week period starts when I get my pension, so this one started on 13th November. Pleased to say that we had come in ok on grocery this time and as I hadn't been out much I hadn't spent too much elsewhere either. However, the tentacled ones asked for the energy reading on 17th and I can't believe how much we had spent in the last month. I know its my fault as I wasn't moving around too much, or doing many exercise routines, or going out so much etc etc, so we had the heating on a lot more than we would normally for early November. You better be sitting down to read this......£211!!!!!! for gas & electric. Luckily we were over £400 in credit and I will also get the winter fuel payment next month, but even so, I am ashamed and disgusted by this. I have now lowered the thermostat which was only on 18c anyway, and also clicking it off a lot more. If I stay in the kitchen its not too bad, but the lounge is very cold, so luckily I am now spending more time in the kitchen. Also told DH he has to spend less time on his desktop computer every weekend, as I know it uses a lot, even though he disagrees with me. But when he's on it 6-8 hours Saturday &Sunday, it all adds up. I have a nice little laptop, but he says he can't do that due to all the sort of stuff he does on computer!!
Yesterday I browsed the Big River Black Friday sales and found an airfryer. We had been talking about getting one for a while, so decided now is the time. Especially as tidying and re doing the kitchen is on my to do list now. Hopefully it will save us some money. That was the other thing, when i had my wrist in plaster, I couldn't really cook properly and ti was easy to open the oven and throw something in. So we didn't really eat well these last 4 or 5 weeks.
well my wrist is starting to hurt again now, so i am going to say cheerio for now, hope you're all ok and having a good weekend. I will update a bit more tomorrow.Making the debt go down and savings go up
