Just updating as been AWOL a few days. DH had a few days off work and last Saturday we got bad news about a friend (mother of DDIL), has passed away. She had been ill for over a year, but went suddenly downhill as treatment wasn't working. In the end we went away for couple of nights to somewhere we have been before, just a couple of hours up the road and got a great cheap last minute deal. SC, so took food with us, but did buy a sausage roll one day and a cake another day. But the Fun Pot covered that, plus I had cashed out over £104 las month on P/fc, so didn't feel too bad about it. Also another item sold on V*nt*d while we were away. Did us the world of good, and come back refreshed and ready to start again. The sun came out a bit in the afternoons while we were there, which was lovely. So lots of walking and photos, and then playing Scrabble in the evening in the lodge. Loads of lovely CSs there and nice independent shops, which was lovely. DH found 4 books by his latest favourite author, and I discovered an Oxfam book shop, as recommended by @foxgloves , and found some piano music. Got 2 books of lovely tunes for £3.98. So very pleased with that.

So back home today and washing done and on the airer with the Dehumidifier on. Just done a study on P/fc already, and already cashed out over £40 so far this month, so hoping for another good month.

On the downside, the price of petrol had gone up by 8p a litre!!!, between going away and coming home. So that wasn't so good. So now I am re-planning my week, so as not to use the car so much and also planning on using my free bus pass a lot more, which so far I have only used a handful of times since I got it over 2 years ago. It is ok to go by bus to go to the supermarkets and into the town I use, but can't get to my dance class…without a long walk from the bus stop, and the gym is in an area where we have no direct bus service from here. But my friend sometimes goes on the same day, so thinking maybe a car sharing scheme might work. Got to save money where we can, and it looks as though everything is going to start going up a lot more now with what is happening in the ME.

So best get on with some dinner. Told DH I am using up left overs and adding some pasta…he looked at me with a look that could kill!! LOL. He hates stuff like that. Got a Mr S delivery booked for tomorrow morning, for stuff I can't get in L*d!, then I will nip to L*d! when I go dancing on Wednesday. Monday is the 2nd week of the 4 week budget period, and so far I haven't had to do a proper shop, as we were away and had plenty in the fridge to take with us. Still a good lot in the freezer, so hoping this will be another good month.

    Onwards and upwards.

    sorry about DDIL's mum.

Your short break sounds like it's been good for both of you. We find that we come back refreshed and ready to be productive.
    great work on the surveys.

Instead of telling them they are leftovers, tell you are creating a special dish. Don't have to mention that they are leftvoers ever.

Well today didn't quite go as planned. The day was marked as a sitting at computer and updating budgets/ledgers/finance/ DD's/debt payments etc etc etc . Firstly I had to nip to the village for some eggs and honey from the butcher, peg out some washing and clean the bathroom, but then I did make a start, but it will have to get finished Friday I think, which is my next totally free day. Soon as I sat down and had P/fc open at the same time a study popped up. Well, unless its very badly paid, then I am not going to turn studies away. So after that they kept on popping up. So I have now had enough of staring at screens and need a break. Think I really must go back to optician as my eyes are getting really bad with computer and phone now. But it has been worth it, as I have had over £18 of studies in just a few hours. So far this month, I have cashed out over £50 with another £32 waiting in my balance and over £29 waiting to approve. Never known anything like it, but long may it continue.

Didn't post yesterday, but it was a pretty routine day. Went to gym and then to post a parcel for another V*nt*d item I sold, then returned library books and picked up DH's prescription. Got some orange stickered sourdough rolls and a loaf in C00p.

Been looking at the gym I go to and trying to go twice a week if I can. Its a small community run gym and very cheap, I currently pay £4 which is 50p cheaper than the WalkFit class I used to go to. So I was paying on a PAYG option, but it appears that if I pay monthly, I can get to go as many times as I want, for £20, or if I pay up front, I can pay £100 for 6 months. Well that seems like a bargain as that is only just over £16 a month, and I can go as many times as I want. So seems like the best option, as if I carry on with PAYG and go twice a week, I will end up paying £32 a month. So its a no brainer really. Think P/fc will pay for this this month.

DH has had a message about the NW Fair pay thingy for this year. I've not heard anything yet though. Has anybody else heard? I think its not actually paid until May?

Well that's about it for now, need to get some things sorted for dinner later and finish my meal plan for the week.

I've heard nothing & have received all previous ones. I wonder if alphabetical or maybe account number order. Although I have had my account for almost 40 years

I not heard from NW either about the fairer pay, I too have qualified for all the previous pay out and been a member for nearly 40 years.

Myself and @badmemory could be NW twins 😆

Lovely sunny day today, so got washing blowing in the sunshine and even stripped the bed. Cleaned the lounge this morning and then spent the day doing admin/finance type stuff, interspersed by P/fc studies, so that slowed my admin jobs down somewhat. Managed to nab a great one yesterday, that involved a Zoom interview today. This is possibly the best month I have ever had with P/fc in the over 2 years that I have been doing it. Just hope it keeps up.

Managed to sell another item on V*nt*d, for £5, its amazing what people are happy to buy. Also cashed out almost £9 on TCB. Got just over £9 to cash out on P/fc later, and just over £62 waiting to approve.

So now just need to run the Vax over upstairs and get the washing in and get dinner on. Its salmon tonight. Tomorrow I need to cut DH's hair first thing and then we are visiting his mum. Will be a tense couple of hours now doubt as all his mum & dad ever do is moan and tell us about how much they "can't" do and how bad everything is….life, health, the world, workmen, traffic, the economy. You name it and they can moan about it. Last time we visited I asked DFIL how he was….he replied he had aches and pains everywhere and everything kept going wrong. I said but at least he still wakes up every morning and is alive. He replied that he wasn't sure that was worth it!!!! I just gave up after that. Might need a stiff drink when we get home tomorrow, and I don't really drink! LOL

    have fun tomorrow 😂

My dad always replies to "how are you?" type questions with "I think I'm past my sell buy date". There is never a positive comment.

LOL…but that is not too negative. My own dad always says "yes, I'm ok. " then he always adds…."Well I am 93 now you know"…..LOL But he has a positive outlook on life, even though he can't get out alone or get around without his walker. But the inlaws are only 79 (MIL) and 87(FIL) (DH is a lot younger than me so his mum is only 12 years older than me…..LOL). They still have a car, plenty of money and good health, but because their brains are telling them they are old, they think they have all sorts of things….like getting out of breath, bad backs, aches and pains etc etc,. And this is all because they do nothing all day. I told them there are people at my gym older than them, but they don't care….just waiting for God!!
