Morning all. Totally got distracted again, I really need to limit my browsing. Been watching woodworking, looked at ebay, whre I made a mistake with a purchase, I didn't notice it was pick up in person, not postage, so I've thrown myself on their mercy and asked either if I can arrange a courier or if they can relist...To be honest, if they relist and offer postage they'll easily make treble or more against what I paid. Anyway, oops. Raining here too so no garden today. Did three loads of washing yesterday, managed to dry one lot on the line, rest in the TD though but one load, with various things hanging on doors and the bannisters [ pants count, um, about 25 nice ones, 7 ish ones for emergencies only] . Shell Energy got in touch with a projected usage and want to increase my dd from 140, which I set a couple of months ago, to 190..That's 100 more than I was paying before all this kicked off. Trouble is, short of not actually using any electric at all, there's no way to effectively make it cheaper after you've switched all the stand bys off, lights, heating, shower, td, wm, dw etc. I switched on the heating last week for OH in the mornings when he's earlies for 3/4 of an hour, but switched it off for the weekend and when he's on lates. I'll try and just put it on for when he's on earlies. Extra clothes for me,and garden work warms me up, I won't freeze, and we can afford it luckily. Which just makes me so glad we can, because a lot of people won't be able to. It's just ridiculous.Gers, every now and again, I make something I have to force myself to eat but don't want, then give up and chuck it away. You are not alone. WL, I didnt know there were new Morris dances, I have learned something new! good luck with the new tunes. Izzy, your boss sounds awful. And cheeky. And taking advantage far too much... Rubym enjoy swanning in and out of ex work
Nanny, poor mr fixit pincushioned up! Rain stopping play here too...Look after yourselves today and put your foot down with a firm hand to anything you don't want to do.

My complicated spreadsheet has been cracked! It's not really complicated, just that my brain last night went on strike and this morning it's back up and running.Coxy - I bet that working life is 'interesting' for you, again.Nan - I got both injections in the same arm which saved me having two sore sides.Izzy - the sheer nerve of your boss made my jaw drop!Red - yes, what a woman. Some people have the gene which copes with everything and everyone.DP1 - I meant to say days ago how much I enjoyed your DGD pirate time. You are so good with her too.No TV man yet so I'll have another coffee before starting to tackle the paper mound.7

@IzzyBee your boss takes the mick!
Can you believe I've just looked at the armchair online from our sofa range (there wasn't one in store to try) and the one supplied has a completely different back cushion to the photo and description - no wonder it looks and feels wrong! Have just rung M&S and they will be sending me a link to send photos to the workshop.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings7 -
Gers unfortunately the oncology one is given in his stomach and the sides have to change every 3mths. The flu one was done as an afterthought and he wasn't asked which arm before being jabbed! On the knicker count I have a drawer full of all colours and types and another 20 in my holiday clothes bag. I don't think I'll ever go short in a knicker crisis 🤣 Don't think we've had one of those yet !!
Coxy hope you get the armchair sorted asap.
taff bah humbug to the ebay purchase, hope you get it sorted favourably.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently7 -

Poor man, though if it all makes him feel better then it's worth it.My knicker drawer holds more than 25 pairs, all white and all M&S. I simply can't wear any other colour, somehow non-white makes me feel itchy, not really but it's a mind thing! Same with bed linen, it has to be predominately white. I've tried to be less strange but now have accepted my weirdness.TV man has been. It took ages to drill a new hole through this old stone cottage and then the internal work was simple, just the cable running across the back of the bed, through a new hole in the brick wall into the second room. TV and Freesat recording box now all set up.My lentil soup has turned out so well, it's such a relief after the disaster of yesterday. I blended it this time, only slightly, so it thickened a bit. It's now in two containers with the excess eaten for lunch with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a sprinkling of nutritional yeast and one frankfurter! Very tasty.I haven't even looked at the pile of documents waiting to be scanned, the mesmerising news from London has kept me watching TV. I make no political comment apart from 'what a shambles'. Apart from the flurry of the morning I haven't done anything productive, tomorrow is another day.
