Travel insurance, depression 8 years ago but I still have to list it

I am looking for annual travel insurance as a 45 year old. If I put no pre-existing conditions, I can get cover for around £23 for a 60 day max stay annual policy.
If I put that I saw my GP a year ago for chest infection (nothing prescribed) and 9 years ago had depression/stress (but not had medication or depression in previous 9 years) I am asked to pay £31 for a 45 days max stay annual policy.
There is no chance of me having depression/stress because of a holiday/on holiday or a chest infection so I don't understand what difference it makes (and would be happy if I wasn't covered for depression/stress).
Should I declare depression and the chest infection last year?

Failure to do so would be intentional non-disclosure (aka fraud) which would entitle the insurer to void the policy, not pay any claims irrespective if they are related to these conditions or not, and keep the premiums.NeedSomeHRadvice said:Should I declare depression and the chest infection last year?
As someone 1 year younger than you I suspect you can get a 60 day policy if thats what you need but it will simply cost more so reducing to 45 days is more a cost saving mechanism than anything else.2 -
Thanks DullGreyGuy & Marcia_, I've done as you've advised but can't help being ripped off. If they gave me the option of not covering these illnesses and get the cover for £~20 and for 60 days I would happily do it. We should have this option but it is not provided to us, instead they up the premiums and shorten the number of days allowed!

I think you will find insurers who will do that sort of thing, but you'll have to hunt around for it - the mainstream insurers are only interested in straightforward cases.NeedSomeHRadvice said:If they gave me the option of not covering these illnesses and get the cover for £~20 and for 60 days I would happily do it.
