Tea was, HG roast pork, HG carrots, HG cauli and broccoli, roast potatoes, apple sauce, stuffing and gravy. All eaten by everybody, I'm amazed, that doesn't happen often. All then had trifle. I've saved the fat/lard from the joint to fry stuff in. Will be enough meat for another meal. The skin will be put back in the oven, next time it's on, to make crackling.
Also managed to get one and a half jars of raspberry jam made.
Hugs to all, back tomorrow, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.9 -
Not surprised it was eaten by everyone it sounds delicious especially as it was all home grown. Didn't you have yorkshire pud as well?3

what a super organised lady , your stores are to die for
no problem with plenty of HG stuff, whether animals or fruit and veg. It looks amazing. I feel pretty sure you will be fine with what cash is left over.A lady after my own heart.
I have enough of my cinnamon rice pud left for tomorrow, and my grandsons loved their lasagne and have enough for their lunch tomorrow left over.

Thank you, @DrCarrie and @patentgirl. Still going, no money spent yet, although we'll need milk in the next few days. I'll probably pick that up at the petrol station down the road, less temptation to spend more money, and a nice walk, just over a mile round trip.
Another cupboard, this time tins in the kitchen, yes i have tins elsewhere too. This one includes 20 tins of chopped tomatoes, 3 of plum tomatoes, 7 tins of pillchards, various sauces etc, plus other bits.
I've podded the runner beans and sorted the tomatoes i brought in yesterday. I noticed that the onions i put in a couple of weeks ago have sprouted. They were left over pickling onions, I ran out of vinegar. Hope they do well. Hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.4 -
Mumtoomany, I don't know in which type of dish you use lentils, but I use them in spaghetti sauce. I just blitz the tomato sauce with the lentils until smooth, then re-add the browned ground meat.

That’s a good idea SiebrieI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4

Hi, @Siebrie. I add them where i think i can get away with it! The red ones dissolve, it was green ones that were spotted. He's not seen them since! Nor the oats that i add to bolognese, chilli and Shepherds pie. Getting better at deception.
Just been outside. Picked 19 apples, still around another 100 to pick. Tub of raspberries, they seem to be going on for ever this year. Four leeks, few french beans, small cucumber, three more peppers, few more carrots that had evaded me yesterday and more cherry tomatoes.
Speak soon, hug, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -
