    Tried the lost card reporting line? When/if you get through, apologise that you must have dialled the wrong number but could they put you through? 
    Last time I called CS they were still wfh

    Chat bots should just be used as a way of filtering out customers with basic queries and redirecting them towards the FAQs, leaving the customer service agents to deal with more complex questions so it's disappointing to hear that this isn't the case here - going round in circles with a chat bot when you have a question that you know for a fact can't be dealt with with a cut-and-paste FAQ answer and you need to speak to a human must be very frustrating.

    After the supportive comments on here I think I may craft a considered email to the CEO ....

    Even though I have probably made double in compensation over the past couple of years what I have also made in interest!!

    I would much rather have half-way decent customer service and not have to resort to the complaints procedures.....

    (By the way - currently on hold while I'm typing this to try to resolve the balance transfer issue ....but hey, its only been 25 minutes so far ......)

    I realise that ..... but speak to agent only gets a 'what do you want?' question followed by the loop .......

    But I'm only a customer, what do I know? So now I will ring should I need to ask a question. Normally it doesn't take long before someone answers but with the 2.75% account launch and retraction I would expect it's a 'mare currently.

    TBF I've not had much cause to contact them and I've had my main account with Santander since they took over A&L. 

    Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply ....

    If you had had as many dealings as I (and many others ....) have had in the last couple of years you would know that wait times are often well over an hour..... 

    Having said that just got through after 'only' 35 minutes .......!!!!!!!!!
