Booster refused because of incorrect entry on vaccination record

I’ve already commented about this under the “Booster Offered “ thread, but my experience might help others so I’m posting a new thread with a more descriptive title.

I went to a walk-in centre for my autumn Covid booster but was refused because my vaccination record said that I had already had it! When I looked at the NHS app I could see an entry for a vaccination I had never had. I was advised to call 119, they referred me to their Data Resolution team, and after a thorough check of my vaccination record (dates, batch numbers where I had them, etc.) I was told that the incorrect data would be removed in a few days, and when it had gone I could book my booster. 

After a week it was still there so I called 119 for an update, and the lady who answered started to book me an appointment. I stopped her, and explained what had happened, but she said that her system would not be allowing her to make the appointment if there was any issue over my eligibility. I attended yesterday and received my booster with no problems. Today the new vaccination is showing on my record but the incorrect one is still there.

So, 1) be aware that there are some issues with the recording of Covid vaccinations, and keep an eye on your vaccination record - if I had noticed the incorrect entry before I tried to get my booster, I might have saved myself some time and trouble. 

2) if you are in my situation and have been told you cannot get vaccinated until the incorrect data has been removed, that might not be the case - it’s worth trying to make a booking after a week or so.
