    Have you compared your old and new tariffs to understand this difference?

    My fixed price was £0.18 it went up to £0.28 (My highest bill with this rate was still only £66 and thats Gas+Elec), and from Oct 1st went up to £0.32. So yes I have checked the rates. Note these are just the Elect rates as it is mostly what I use.
    If you use mostly electricity how are you heating your home, water etc? 

    Remember also your "highest bill with the new rate" was during a summer period - so isn't in the slightest representative of average - I'd suggest you are looking at FAR higher figures come December > February.

    Maybe if the OP gave actual amounts of how many kWh they use of each fuel someone could estimate the costs for them. Much better than talking about £90 or £20 or whatever.
