Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, air feels cool to start the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was LO roast lamb, roasties, peas, LO yorkshires and gravy Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be eating but will find something.

I'm using up bits and pieces in the fridge, there's a sorry looking leek lingering on a shelf so it'll probably end up as soup today. I'll add in some chicken pieces and a smidgen of chilli flakes to spice it up. Nothing else planned so far, I'm waiting to see what the weather decides to do.
I had my usual nice meet with BFF yesterday and a lovely lunch was enjoyed. I took her present as it's her birthday tomorrow. For 4 months she is older than me! All the birthday's have come at once, it's middle DGDs today and BIL's tomorrow so an expensive couple of days!
I am confined to barracks today so I suppose I ought to tackle a few jobs. My single duvets were delivered yesterday and now awaiting the covers that are due tomorrow, then it will be the very last time I wash a SK one before bagging all 4 up to go to the charity shop!
I have had the same thoughts as you GERS as I currently have leek and potato soup on the go with my sad looking leeks. That will accompany my lunchtime sarnies for the coming days.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. Take care be safe xx
It's a bit windy this morning and so dark. I really struggle this time if year, I love it but I just want to be at home, I have to force myself out the door. I am like my hogs, just wanting to eat ready to hibernate.
We should be getting the missing bits of our kitchen today, plus I'm having my stair carpet fitted. I managed to pay off the mortgage a year ago and now I'm getting things done in my well-worn 1950's council house. Next thing is the bathroom so that when we're decrepit we can still use it and laying some laminate in the dining come sewing room. I don't care about new furniture unless it's broken.
Anyhow today I need to pop to certain shop for some cleaning stuff for my job. Plus more housework. Dinner tonight is midweek roast chicken.
Have a good day all.
Clear here for the moment but rain is due later on, I have two clients coming today, I am hoping to get them out for a walk along the seafront where its flat as one of them has mobility problems, then have a hot chocolate somewhere and then home to do crafts or bake a cake.
Dinner tonight will be eggs bacon sausage and beans, its a bit of a use up of odd things I have found in the freezer.
DW has been emptied this morning and I have put a wash on which will have to go on the airer, im desperatly trying not to use the TD and they want to put my gas and elec DD up to £222 per month
Re the knicker count, I dont know how many I have but there are lots ! I shall have a count up later but im sure I have way more than 14
Have good days all and take care xx
Yesterday DH and I went to the City Centre whilst my car was being fixed. Had a good mooch around and bought a couple of Christmas things plus some chocolate I wanted to get as a thank you for a friend who lent me something last week. Unfortunately, my car now has a dashboard display problem so I'm dropping the keys in to the garage this morning and they will take a look at it again.
We had the remainder of the Shepherd's Pie last night then today we are having a pub lunch with friends, after walking 5 miles of the 3 Shires Way. Just two sections left to walk now and we've already pencilled in a date for the next bit.
Our grass still hasn't fully recovered from the dry summer and it now has weeds growing in it front and back, where there are bald patches. Can't decide whether to deal with it now or leave it until the Spring but it will need sorting out.
Wishing you all a happy Tuesday
Just pottering about and tidying up today, picked up five library books I’d ordered yesterday so will have a reading session later I think.
yoga tonight, so a ping dinner afterwards
have a good day all
We were expecting L,B and E home today but it looks like they may not be back until tomorrow, they've had a couple of hiccups that will probably delay them (Laura is cross that Brian procrastinated on a couple of jobs that have now turned out more complicated).
We were thinking of going up to Yorkshire next week but heard that Steve's aunt had died (she was completely non compos mentis with dementia) so we will go up the following week and go to the funeral on the 2nd.
I'm hoping we'll get to see Nate today but just waiting to hear from Crystal. If we don't go over there we'll continue with the sorting. Steve has been doing the shed and garage but the wine racks we ordered didn't turn up yesterday, despite paying for next day delivery (refunded), hopefully they will come today and we can get the bottles out of the dining room.
Have a good day.
I'm back! Fantastic time away, DS2 and his DP are fabulous company but they eat a lot! We had some great meals, one especially was very expensive but so very worth it. What a city, don't think I was quite prepared for the madness or the hills, my poor legs are suffering. Long day travelling back yesterday but was all going smoothly until the motorway from Glasgow to Edinburgh was closed so long delays even at 9 in the evening.
Must do some shopping today, it was all very well using up everything before I went away but that means there's no fresh food in at all. I've done one load of washing, not enough for a hot wash yet (I must have about 40 pairs of pants) but I'm with you Gers, some things really need a hot wash to feel clean.
The house is freezing so I've given in and put the heating on for a couple of hours, will light the fire later and have a lazy day.
I'll catch up with all your news later, hope everyone is doing ok. Take care. XX
They're here fixing the leaking pipe in the bathroom and have apologised for having to cut a hole in the wall through to the bathroom. An electrician will be coming up later when they do something else...not really sure what but the plumber is very nice and seems to know what he's doing!
I'm stewarding at our local cinema this afternoon for Mrs Harris goes to Paris - I'm looking forward to it.
Gers I think you saw it last week?
Camelot - welcome back pleased you enjoyed your holiday. DD really enjoyed Istanbul and described it as a crazy busy city too...which she loved. She also said there were cats everywhere which she also loved but I'm sure some people wouldn't - I got lots of cat photos!
One lad in her team who was with them in Turkey now has Covid so they've all been told to work from home for the reast of the week - DD is fine so far.
Well I have some admin jobs to do so will wish you all a good day x
